LEGOs are no longer just collector items and fun building toys. In recent years they have expanded into the realm of feature-length films and television shows. Starting with the massive success of the 2014 The Lego Movie, there have now been four full feature-length films that take place in the LEGO universe including, The LEGO Batman Movie, The LEGO Ninjago Movie, and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. These LEGO movies have been quite successful, as the medium allows for some interesting play with the source material and has done an amazing job in creating new worlds from old IP....

HBO found themselves another major hit last year with Westworld, which gave viewers a sprawling adventure in a sci-fi setting, as opposed to fantasy/adventure, like on Game of Thrones. Unlike Game of Thrones, there isn’t a lot of existing source material to draw on, so the creative process has been slow for Westworld season 2, but we now have an update that gives us an idea of when we can expect to find out a little more about what is going on with Dolores, Bernard and the Man in Black, and what they’ll get up to....

If you have something bad to say about Blazing Saddles, you may have to worry about Whoopi Goldberg coming after you. The veteran actress was speaking with her fellow co-hosts on The View on Wednesday following comments made by Mindy Kaling that The Office would be too problematic to be aired on television today. From there, the topic turned to other titles from the past that have drawn retroactive backlash, and the Mel Brooks comedy classic Blazing Saddles came up as there has been some online criticism over the movie’s “racist” content....

Hush (2016) follows Maddie Young, a deaf and mute writer living in the woods with only her dog and neighbors to keep her company. Maddie is struggling with determining the perfect ending to her story when she becomes the latest prey for a killer stalking the woods. When this hunter sees that Maddie is deaf, he looks at her as someone who is vulnerable and easy to toy with, so this intense cat-and-mouse game begins....

Director Christopher Nolan’s Batman swan song The Dark Knight Rises passed the $300 million milestone at the domestic box office yesterday. The franchise finale took in $8.7 million yesterday, July 31, bringing its total to just over $304 million. It took just 12 days for the blockbuster to accomplish this feat, although it is just behind the pace of 2008’s The Dark Knight, which brought in $300 million in 10 days....

It worked for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 and Part 2 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and Part 2. Now, Lionsgate has confirmed that the studio will wrangle an extra big screen outing from Suzanne Collins’ popular trilogy The Hunger Games, making it a four film quadrilogy. Well, Lionsgate will if the first movie is as big of a success as they are hoping for....

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs crashed Shudder’s servers when it premiered last summer, and in a few weeks, it’s coming back to the service as a weekly TV series. Set to premiere in March, the new series will be in a format similar to last year’s 24-hour movie marathon, with each episode consisting of a double feature rather than a marathon of 13 straight movies. Briggs will be personally picking out a variety of horror and thriller titles, bringing along some special guests to the Texas trailer park along the way....

After just four episodes, The Stand is solidifying itself as one of the great Stephen King adaptations to arrive in recent years. The miniseries looks and feels like a cinematic blockbuster, and it perfectly captures King’s essence in story, dialogue and tone. The Weinstein Company has acquired the rights to Timur Bekmambetov’s latest project Apollo 18. According to Deadline, Trevor Caewood will direct the sci-fi thriller from a script written by Brian Miller, with Bekmambetov serving solely as a producer. Apollo 18 is the latest movie to rely on found footage to tell its story. The plot will revolve around recently discovered video shot by the crew of an abandoned moon mission from the early 70s....

Brendan Fraser is set to star in the latest Darren Aronofsky film, The Whale. The director is known for his previous work on Requiem for a Dream, Black Swam, and Mother!. Fraser rose to stardom with his take on Rick O’ Connell in the early 2000s The Mummy films; however, the actor has appeared in over 50 movies spanning over three decades. The Whale, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival this September, according to IndieWire, is Fraser’s first film since the 2021 movie No Sudden Move....

In 2019, Netflix released the long-awaited adaptation of Andrzej Sapkpowski’s ‘Witcher stories. Following Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher sees a long span of adventure that encompasses a romantic affair with Yennifer, a child he was destined to have in Ciri, and all the monsters one can handle. Playing Geralt of Rivia is Henry Cavill; until recently, that is. After the third season, the role of Geralt will be passed to another actor, with Henry Cavill and Netflix releasing statements that Cavill has elected to step away from the production moving forward....

Get drenched in oil in two separate formats. There Will Be Blood is coming to DVD and HD DVD on April 8. We don’t have any pricing details yet, but the film will be released in a single-disc edition with no special features, a two-disc edition and the HD DVD edition. The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano. A sprawling epic about family, greed, corruption, and the pursuit of the American dream....

Heath Ledger had an extremely impressive career before his tragic death in 2008. There is no question that he would have gone on to create even more memorable characters if he had not passed away so suddenly. Ledger had a charisma and ability to transform into his characters that made him stand out among many actors. He could play a heartthrob just as easily as he could play a villain, as we saw in his portrayal of Joker in The Dark Knight....
