The Oxford Dictionary definition of a party (noun) is a social gathering of invited guests, typically involving eating, drinking, and entertainment. The meaning was determined by English Professors at Oxford University, coincidentally enough, the same university that the imminently departing UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson attended. Johnson, former leader of the Conservative Party, also attended an infamous party during lockdown; following in the esteemed footsteps of his Oxford forebears, though, he’d insist on redefining the word with a simple addition: ‘a party is NOT a social gathering of invited guests, typically involving eating, drinking, and entertainment....

When fans were first introduced to Michonne (Danai Gurira) in the Season 2 finale of The Walking Dead, she had two zombie “pets” with her. Both had their jaws and arms removed while walking behind this samurai-wielding survivor. Ultimately, Michonne had to put her zombies down in Season 3. But now she’s found new undead friends to accompany her on the road. AMC has released two photos from the Season 4 mid-season premiere, “After”, one of which shows Danai Gurira’s character with these zombie pets trailing behind her on a makeshift leash....

The Walking Dead heats up season ten with a meeting taken straight from the comics. “What It Always Is” has Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) on the run with help from a fawning Brandon Rose (Blaine Kern III). Ezekiel (Khary Payton) hides a deadly secret. “What It Always Is” opens with Kelly in the woods....

The Good An interesting film that tackles the greater issue of what the American Public is and isn’t allowed to see. The Bad Why is there a film critic who had nothing to do with the making of the movie on the commentary track? This Film Is Not Yet Rated is the kind of movie that is fun simply because it’s story is best described as whimsical. At times serious, director Kirby Dick has put together a documentary that seems like something he made because he felt spurned....

Trailer Park Boys fans rejoice! Ricky, Julian and Bubbles are heading to Netflix for two all-new seasons of the cult favorite TV series. The U.S. based streaming service will also debut three standalone specials as well as the upcoming movie Trailer Park Boys: Don’t Legalize It (in Canadian theaters April 18) and Swearnet: The Movie. HBO hasn’t officially green lit True Detective Season 3 yet. But it sounds like that is getting closer and closer to happening. New episodes haven’t been announced. But if they do happen, it sounds like the crime drama has found it’s leading man. That is, if Mahershala Ali is willing too play along. As much as True Detective Season 1 was unanimously praised by fans and critics alike, Season 2 was hated and trashed, and ultimately called one of the worst sophomore seasons of any series in recent memory....

Universal Pictures has picked up the rights to the novel Juliet by Danish author Anne Fortier, for James Mangold and Cathy Konrad to produce through their Tree Line Film banner, with Mangold also attached to direct. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the tome will be published in 2010, and was one of the talks of September’s Frankfurt book fair, where Ballantine pre-emptively plunked down seven figures for U.S. rights to the English-language debut of Fortier....

History announced today new casting for Season 3 of its hit scripted series Vikings, including Lothaire Bluteau (The Tudors) as Emperor Charles of France, a powerful man who views battling the Vikings as spiritual and earthly; Kevin Durand (The Strain) as The Wanderer, a mysterious man who is not what he seems; and Morgane Polanski (The Ghost Writer) as Princess Gisla, the elegant, self-possessed daughter of Emperor Charles and his most trusted advisor....

Warner Bros. is going global with it’s HD plans as it looks to release 15 new movies in Europe. Warner Home Video, which distributes the largest film library of any studio, announced today at IFA 2006 the company’s plans to release more than 15 HD DVD titles in European markets. These markets include France, Germany, Spain and the UK. The initial films, a combination of recent hits and catalog favorites, are expected to be available late 2006....

Taika Waititi’s and Jemaine Clement’s New Zealand film What We Do in the Shadows has gone on to inspire the popular and great American TV series of the same name. But did you know that the film also produced another show, called Wellington Paranormal? The reason you may not have come across this project is that the series originally aired in NZ in 2018 and didn’t reach the US until 2021....

HBO’s The Deuce is returning for a second season next month and it will take place in 1977, five years after the events of the first season. chronicles the rise of the porn culture in New York City from its infancy in the early 1970s to the mid 1980s and beyond as well as its massive effect on the sex industry as well as sex workers. The Deuce was created by David Simon and George Pelecanos, who are best known for The Wire....

The Hobbit is set to start production next month in New Zealand, which has director Peter Jackson currently scouring the island for locations. The director was seeking out spots for the epic production in the Wakapitu and South island areas of New Zealand this week. Here’s what Jackson’s assistant, Matt Dravitzki, had to say: A Gulfstream aircraft, which is believed to be registered to Peter Jackson and his Wingnut Films team, has been parked at the Queenstown airport since Monday....

The Midnight Club, Mike Flanagan’s latest collaboration with Netflix after hit series like The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass, has finally been released.
