For those doubting the mature themes of Werewolf by Night, it seems that the violent and horror-orientated special only avoided a TV-MA rating thanks to it being presented in black and white instead of color. The first look at the Marvel Special Presentation brought an unexpectedly dark and scary homage to 40s Universal horror movies and will draw back the veil on the monsters of the MCU. Director Michael Giacchino recently revealed that the super-violence of the show almost ended up pushing the rating of Werewolf by Night beyond the usual TV-14....

NBC has begun considering a cut to its primetime programming. The television giant is reportedly discussing whether it will keep its coveted 10 pm to 11 pm EST time slot. NBC may cut its programming during that time, thus saving the network a surprising amount of money weekly. If NBC chooses to do so, that hour would be given over to local TV stations. The matter is apparently being mulled over at an executive level and hasn’t yet been brought to the NBC affiliates’ board....

UPDATE: 7/20 12 PM PSTThe Aurora, Colorado Police Department held a press conference earlier today, where they revealed that 59 people were injured by the shooter, up from the previous total of 38. The authorities confirmed that 12 people died in the shooting, and that James Holmes, 24, is the suspect in custody. They would not release the names of the victims, since they are still identifying the bodies, 10 of which still remain in the theater....

The Raid star Iko Uwais will soon join action movie megastars Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, and Jason Statham in The Expendables 4, and the martial artist cannot get enough of working with such experienced players. Uwais, who will join the action movie franchise as the villain of the fourth outing, has been discussing working alongside veterans of their craft, and how their skillset helps with the collaboration process. Discussing joining The Expendables 4 with Okezone, Iko Uwais, who has already demonstrated his affinity for action movies with the likes of The Raid and The Night Comes for Us, is clearly finding working with such Hollywood legends as Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham to be a hugely rewarding experience....

Pictures today announced that MGM and Warner Bros have concluded a deal for Warner Bros. Pictures to handle international theatrical and video distribution responsibilities on MGM’s behalf for Peter Jackson ’s highly anticipated adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s " The Hobbit"....

This weekend’s Super Bowl offered all manner of excitement, not least the first teaser trailer for Prime Video’s upcoming The Lord of the Rings prequel series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Lauren Graham has been cast in the lead role in the new Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks. Graham will star as Alex and Brady Noon is set to portray her son, Evan. Based on the ’90s hit franchise, the 10-episode original series begins production this month in Vancouver and will premiere later this year on the streaming service. Graham is also a co-executive producer on the series. In present day Minnesota, The Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe had a problem. They had this great character, built him up, created his world, and then had no clue what to do with the Mighty Thor. So, in a last ditch effort, they hired the hilarious Taika Waititi to spearhead the next Thor movie and gave him full creative reign to do as he pleased in the hopes of revitalizing the genre. And he sure did, creating one of the most beloved Marvel films in Thor: Ragnarok and gaining those Thor fans back....

Sega has unveiled a brand new teaser trailer for their upcoming video game tie-in to the upcoming superhero film Thor, which will be released in theaters nationwide on May 6, 2011. Joe Exotic was recently the recipient of some good and bad news. Because the trial court had miscalculated two of the charges against Exotic when he was sentenced to 22 years in prison, in regard to an alleged murder-for-hire plot against Carole Baskin along with animal cruelty charges, a judge ruled that the sentence was erroneous. It was possible that the 22-year sentence could have been dropped to 17, but the federal appeals court instead reduced the sentence by just one year with a new 21-year sentence....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, TMU Pictures getting in league with War Birds. The original story for the film was written by Michael Chait who will also produce and direct. War Birds was written by Josh Staman and Bryan Binder. J. Todd Harris (Bottle Shock) and screenwriter Richard Jefferies (Tron Legacy) are going to polish and produce the script. The story centers on an Air Force veteran who becomes a reckless airshow re-enactment pilot....

All great stories come to an end. Such is the case with Lara Jean’s tale of love. Netflix has released the first trailer for To All The Boys: Always and Forever, which will conclude the teen rom-com trilogy. The third installment will pick up in the aftermath of last year’s P.S. I Still Love You, which saw Lana Condor’s Lara and Noah Centineo’s Peter conclude the sequel on a happy note....

Variety reports that Valkyrie co-writer and producer Christopher McQuarrie is teaming up with Tom Cruise on 3 new projects.. McQuarrie and Mason Alley are writing Flying Tigers for New Regency. The film looks at a squadron of volunteer fighter pilots put together to help the Chinese battle the Japanese around World War II. Cruise hasn’t officially come aboard the project but he was attached some years ago when Michael Mann was on board to direct....

It’s been quite the experience for Capon filming the series, but one drawback that has come with starring on The Boys is that it has “ruined” superheroes for him. Like many others, Capon had always thought superheroes were awesome, admiring the way they fought their foes while clad in colorful spandex. In a new interview with THR, however, Capon reveals how that all changed when he became the star of a satire series that lampoons superhero fiction....

An all-new poster for Uncharted has been released for its IMAX release. The video game adaptation, which is set to hit theaters in February, brings to life the globe-trotting adventurers of the explorer Nathan Drake to the big screen. Tom Holland of Spider-Man fame plays Nathan in the film with Mark Wahlberg co-starring as his mentor Sully. The new IMAX poster showcases Holland’s Drake clinging for dear life after falling out of an airplane without a parachute....

History has picked up a fourth season of its hit scripted series Vikings, it was announced today by Dirk Hoogstra, EVP and General Manager, History & H2. Vikings is created and written by Michael Hirst (The Tudors, Elizabeth) and five new episodes remain in the current season airing Thursdays at 10 p.m. with the season finale slated for Thursday, April 23 at 10 p.m. On a Live +3 basis for the first five episodes in Season 3, Vikings is averaging 4....
