The Dark Knight Blu-ray has already set sales records and now it’s about to pass yet another milestone. According to Blu-ray.com, sales for The Dark Knight Blu-ray has sold 2.8 million units worldwide - with 2 million units sold in the US alone - and the blockbuster BD will likely pass 3 million units sold in the near future. The Dark Knight Blu-ray sold a record-breaking 1.7 million BD units in its first week alone and worldwide sales have continued to perform steadily after almost three months on the shelves....

Today Warner Home Video (WHV) announced that it is the first studio to surpass sales of 100,000 copies of a high definition title with Martin Scorsese’s 2006 Academy Award Best Picture winner, The Departed. With the number one and two highest selling titles on high definition formats - The Departed and Superman Returns - as well as three other titles in the top ten, (Batman Begins, Happy Feet and GoodFellas) Warner Home Video continues to be the market share leader in high definition disc sales....

Marvel fans can soon enjoy never-before-seen bonus material including four deleted scenes and a gag reel on Eternals on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Marvel Studios’ Eternals follows a group of ancient heroes from beyond the stars who have protected Earth since the dawn of man. When monstrous creatures called Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite in order to defend humanity once again....

The horror world is going off today! According to Fangoria, it seems that Hollywood Pictures Home Entertainment will be putting out David S. Goyer’s The Invisible on October 16. The release will be on Standard DVD and Blu-ray disc. Synopsis: A severely beaten teenager, trapped in a walking purgatory between life and death, must help authorities to the location of his broken body before it’s too late, in this remake of the 2002 Swedish thriller Den Osynlige....

We’ve got some juicy new details on The Mandalorian from Taika Waititi, who is one of the directors lined up for the series. This is the first ever live-action series set within the Star Wars galaxy, which is coming to the Disney+ streaming service later this year. So what can we expect? According to Waititi, lots of Stormtroopers and lots of bounty hunters. The Financial Times has announced that The Terminator franchise will be auctioned off, which has sparked considerable interest because “Terminator” is a unique example of a successful franchise not owned by a big studio. FT says several financial buyers have expressed interest in Terminator, including Platinum Equity, the Beverly Hills firm that owns Delphi, the auto parts maker. All the big film studios have also registered interest in the rights, with Sony Pictures a leading contender....

Summit Entertainment has announced a March 20 release date for The Twilight Saga: New Moon on DVD and Blu-ray. The upcoming The Witcher spinoff, The Witcher: Blood Origin, will be a very different beast compared to the main series, says showrunner Declan de Barra. Speaking with Total Film, de Barra teased how this version of the Witcher will differ from Henry Cavill’s (soon to be Liam Hemsworth’s) more refined version, Geralt, and revealed some of what audiences can expect from the prequel miniseries. The Good There is an ambiguousness to this movie that works really well for the viewer. The Bad It’s sort of hard to get excited about this film when you know David Fincher has a similar one waiting in the wings. I reviewed The Zodiac when it came out theatrically, so you can defer to that review to get my insights and breakdown on the film. This DVD was nice to review and I think the film and additional extras should make a lot of interested people happy....

What Kubrick has done throughout his entire filmography will stand the test of time, creating a diverse catalog of masterpieces that hold up to this day.
