The CW continues to shed its weight with more series cancelations, this time putting an end to the Nancy Drew spinoff series Tom Swift. From CBS Studios, Tom Swift had debuted on The CW in May to kick off its eight-episode freshman season. That first season will turn out to be the only season for the series, as Tom Swift has officially been canceled, per The Hollywood Reporter. The remaining episodes in the season will continue to air on The CW but no new seasons will be developed....

Pamela Gidley, the actress best known for playing Teresa Banks in Twin Peaks, passed away “peacefully” at age 52 in her home in Seabrook, New Hampshire on April 16, as confirmed by an obituary released to the public by her family. The cause of death has yet to be revealed. The Twin Peaks actress was born in Methuen, Massachusetts and raised in Salem, New Hampshire. Her career began with modeling shortly after graduating high school, when she was stopped in the streets of New York City by a modeling agency who asked if she would be interesting in pursuing a career with them....

Tyler Perry’s movies make a lot of money. That’s why Lionsgate keeps letting him direct. According to Variety, Perry is all set to bring his latest stage play, Meet the Browns, to the big screen. Meet the Browns will be the forth film in a row that Perry has made for Lionsgate. The script revolves around a single mother who must find the joy and happiness that is missing from her everyday life....

It looks like you’ll soon be able to watch the Watchmen on the small screen, assuming all goes well. HBO has been working with Damon Lindelof (Lost, The Leftovers) on a TV adaptation of Alan Moore’s groundbreaking DC Comics series. Details have been scarce, but HBO is at least going as far as to shoot a pilot for the Watchmen TV series. Now, thanks to a new report, we know that the show will begin filming in March of 2018....

Quentin Tarantino is widely regarded as one of the most influential and visionary directors in history. Known for his immersive movies, sharp dialogues, and gritty actions sequences, Tarantino has redefined filmmaking in a variety of ways. Given the stark difference between his often nonlinear, edgy movies and Bill Murray’s more conventional ones, it was probably unsurprising when the former voiced his strong dislike for the latter’s work. If you’ve ever watched a Tarantino movie, it’s easy to imagine that a mind which conjures up such grisly films is not likely to belong to someone who’s meek or docile....

Fans of The Daily Show are saying goodbye to Trevor Noah, and while the show will go dark for the rest of the year following his exit, we now know who will be filling in after the start of the new year. Officially, Noah’s curtain call will be with the Dec. 8 episode, and The Daily Show will return on Jan. 17, 2023. As a permanent host hasn’t yet been named, various comedy names, along with The Daily Show correspondents and contributors, will be filling in on an alternating basis....
