Shows and movies about cults are so addictive for some reason, despite them usually being super disturbing, showing terrifying events that we would never want to be involved in. Perhaps this is what makes them so intriguing, because by watching them we are constantly projecting ourselves into impossible situations and wondering how we would deal with it. Although, somewhere, the possibility of finding ourselves amongst a cult doesn’t actually seem that unrealistic, and they aren’t as impossible as we think....

IMAX Corporation and Summit Entertainment announced today that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the highly anticipated third film in the studio’s Twilight franchise, generated gross box office receipts of approximately $9 million from 193 IMAX theatres domestically from Wednesday June 30 through Monday July 5, for a per screen average of approximately $47,000. Internationally, the film opened on 11 IMAX screens, generating an estimated $235,000 from Thursday through Monday. “We are very pleased with these results, and particularly how they reflect the broadening audience demographic for IMAX,” said IMAX’s Chief Executive Officer Richard L....

AMC has announced that they are pushing back The Walking Dead: World Beyond premiere until sometime later this year. The new spin-off series was set to debut April 12th. Though the show had wrapped principal photography, it is now in the post-production process for the last few episodes, which was just shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since the show’s first season is not technically finished, and there’s no way of knowing when production will start again, the network decided to move the premiere date....

The Woman in Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe and directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake) has become the highest grossing British horror film of the past 20 years, grossing over $33 million in the UK and recently crossing the $120 million box office mark worldwide....

Form and Content of Undone First, Undone looks like nothing else on television. There have been rotoscoped movies before (specifically some films from Richard Linklater), but an entire TV show is a different beast altogether. The process involves actually filming the live actors with motion-capture technology and then animating over them; Undone goes a step further and utilizes hand-drawn frame-by-frame sequences, oil painting for background art, and more three-dimensional digital animation....

The Walking Dead season 8 finale didn’t leave fans with a frustrating cliffhanger, but that still wasn’t enough to prevent another ratings drop for the AMC series. The season 8 finale episode Wrath drew in the lowest ratings for the show since The Walking Dead concluded its first season. The producers at Cobra Kai are resurrecting another ’80s classic with the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off spin-off, Sam and Victor’s Day Off. The CW has announced its summer programming lineup, along with premiere dates for new and returning shows. The network has been doing very well as of late, but their marquee shows are wrapping up their currents seasons and will be off until the fall. The network has plenty to occupy their air time this summer, with evergreen favorites like Whose Line Is It Anyway? returning, and new shows such as The Outpost coming our way as well....

After several large-scale successes of classics such as Cinderella and The Lion King, Disney’s train of live-action remakes is about to continue forward with The Hunchback of Notre Dame, coming in 2024. This will be a remake of the classic 1996 animated movie of the same name and only a few details have been released so far. While Idris Elba spoke about doing a Hunchback remake for Netflix, this has fizzled out....
