CBS has canceled the Will Arnett sitcom The Millers midway through Season 2. The Millers will shoot one more episode before shutting down production, with a new episode to air this Monday. The fate of the remaining unaired episodes is as yet undecided. The Millers managed to pull in decent numbers airing directly behind one of TV’s highest rated series, The Big Bang Theory last season on Thursday nights. Moved behind 2 Broke Girls in its new Monday slot, the ratings slipped quite a bit, averaging a 1....

Believe the unbelievable! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release the murder crime mystery series The Outsider The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and DVD on June 9, 2020 and is priced to own at $29.99 SRP ($34.99 in Canada) for the DVD and $39.99 SRP ($44.99 in Canada) for the Blu-ray which includes a Digital Copy (US Only). The Outsider: The Complete First Season is also available to own on Digital via purchase from all major digital retailers today....

Sundance Channel announced today that it has acquired US broadcast rights to the supernatural drama The Returned from Music Box Films. The eight-part French series distributed by Zodiak Rights was created by Fabrice Gobert and is based on the feature film Les Revenants by Robin Campillo. It will premiere on Sundance Channel on Halloween, Thursday, October 31st at 9PM ET/PT. It will air every Thursday night at 9PM. The critically received series was a smash hit for France’s Canal+ and the UK’s Channel 4....

NOTABLES “Terri Schiavo Biopic in the Works” - Monday, April 10 Well, we had to see this one coming, although, to be honest, I forgot about this not long after Schiavo’s feeding tube was removed. This was one of the hottest water-cooler topics of last year, with the battle between Terri’s husband Michael and her parents blowing up to national proportions....

Geoffrey Rush and Colin Firth are set to star in The King’s Speech, which was just picked up for distribution by the Weinstein Company. The film is set to shoot later this year, with a 2011 release date. You can bring home one of the best performances of the year home on DVD and Blu-ray this April. The Wrestler will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 21. The standard DVD will be priced at $29.98 SRP while the Blu-ray will go for $39.98 SRP. A new TV spot further teases the exciting events of the upcoming Marvel sequel Thor: Love and Thunder, while a newly released image transports Thor and The Mighty Thor into the “Shadow World” of the villainous Gorr the God Butcher. Released via Twitter, the latest promo offers a few glimpses of new footage from the MCU outing, as Thor allies himself with several heroes, including Jane Foster, who has now emerged as The Mighty Thor....

The long-gestating Bob Dylan biopic Going Electric is still happening according to its lead star. Back in early 2020, it was reported that Timothée Chalamet had been cast to play a young Bob Dylan in a biopic directed by Logan and Indiana Jones 5 helmer James Mangold. The project was set up at Fox Searchlight, though it wasn’t stated when filming might begin or when the movie would be released. Little was revealed about the film itself, though it’s expected to follow Dylan’s rise to fame with the title referring to when the legendary musician switched from folk music to rock....

The full list of nominees for the Golden Globe Awards was announced on Monday, and while Tom Cruise has garnered a lot of praise for his starring role in the massively successful sequel Top Gun: Maverick, he wasn’t nominated for an acting award. This may be for the best, as Cruise has been on the outs with the ceremony and its organizers since last year. In 2021, he returned the three Golden Globes he’d won in prior years due to the controversy involving the Hollywood Foreign Press Association....

The long-awaited Transformers live-action movie from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, Inc., releases on July 4, 2007, but Rhode Islanders will have the chance to get a sneak preview at a charity premiere to benefit four local organizations dedicated to changing children’s lives. The special premiere is scheduled for June 28 at the Providence Place Cinemas. The entire evening’s festivities are being underwritten by Hasbro. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Autism Project of Rhode Island, Adoption Rhode Island, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital have been chosen as beneficiaries of the event....

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and the Academy Award predictions are beginning to roll in. Hotly debated this year is who will win the Best Supporting Actress category, which includes Angela Bassett, Jessie Buckley, Jamie Lee Curtis, Nina Hoss, Stephanie Hsu, and Gabrielle Union, as well as Variety’s current favorite pick, Dolly De Leon of Triangle of Sadness. According to Variety, De Leon is quickly becoming a top contender in the Best Actress category....

Showtime wrapped up its epic 18-episode run of new Twin Peaks episodes last month, and it seems the show could be coming back for more. During a new interview, Mark Frost, who co-created the series with David Lynch, revealed that both are open to bringing fans another Twin Peaks season. Here’s what Mark Frost had to say below, about the possibility of Twin Peaks Season 4. David Lynch also told the crowd at the Belgrade Culture Center in Serbia, during an exhibition of his photographs, that he hadn’t exactly ruled out a fourth season of the hit series either, adding that it was too early to comment on the matter although he did say that one of the deciding factors of whether or not to make this season will be how long it takes to develop....

Unique Features has picked up screen rights to Shiver, the first in a bestselling three-book series of supernatural romance novels by Maggie Stiefvater. According to Variety, the book covers a bittersweet paranormal romance between a teen who becomes a wolf each winter and his girlfriend, who helps him find the secret to staying human. The first installment was published by Scholastic Press in August and has been on the bestseller lists for six weeks....

Vulture is reporting that that Steve Carell (Dinner for Schmucks) is Warner Bros. first choice to play real life songwriter Dennis Lambert. The studio is presently trying to purchase the rights to the unreleased documentary Of All the Things. This looks at Lambert’s “transformation from musical hit-maker to suburban Florida real-estate agent to one of the most beloved pop stars in the Philippines.” It was during the late sixties through the mid-eighties that Lambert was one of pop music’s top songwriters....

Classic Metallica can make anything better. One Game of Thrones fan has proven this by adding their classic song “For Whom the Bell Tolls” to last weekend’s penultimate episode as Daenerys goes full Targaryen on King’s Landing. The name of the episode is The Bells, and it is one of the most divisive television episodes in history. It even spawned a petition to have HBO redo season 8, which now has well over half a million signatures....

A reboot, whether it be a sequel or a full re-imagining of John Carpenter’s 1981 sci-fi action cult classic, Escape from New York, has been in development hell for ages, but it’s just been announced as finally happening. The directing team, Radio Silence (V/H/S, Southbound, Scream), made up of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella, has been tapped by 20th Century Studios with the attached to direct the project....

What We Do in the Shadows season 3 is going to have to go on without Jemaine Clement in the writing room. The series is based on the movie of the same name which Clement and Taika Waititi created. Clement will remain on board as an executive producer and director on the hit vampire series. The actor/director may even show up in another few episodes.
