Maybe that canceled TV series about The Goonies getting recreated is going to end up happening after all. Previously, it was reported that Fox had ordered a pilot for a potential Goonies re-enactment show. The idea was that the show would follow a teacher and three students as they recreate the iconic movie from director Steven Spielberg. Ultimately, Fox declined ordering the pilot to series. Behind the scenes, the team behind this Goonies re-enactment show have been working diligently to find another home for the project....

Last week, we reported that Warner Bros. and director Peter Jackson were in talks to expand The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again into a trilogy. Today, the filmmaker confirmed that a third movie is actually happening! Take a look at the statement he released on his Facebook page this morning. The Last Kingdom is a historical fiction television series based on Bernard Cornwell’s novel series, The Saxon Stories. The show, developed by Stephen Butchard, premiered on the BBC in 2015 and was well received by fans. The series was acquired by Netflix in 2018 and went on to last a total of five seasons. Yet another classic character from The Munsters has been announced for Rob Zombie’s upcoming reboot. Over the past several months, Zombie has been revealing one character after another that will be featured in the new movie. This even includes many minor characters from the classic sitcom as Zombie seems to want to bring as many characters from that universe into the reboot as possible. On Instagram, Zombie reveals that Zombo, a television horror host, is the next character to join the film....

While The Walking Dead season 11 won’t be happening as planned, AMC is making the most of the situation. As announced during the show’s Comic-Con@Home panel, season 10 of the hit zombie series will be getting an extension. The current season will be airing an additional six episodes, which are expected to arrive in early 2021. The reveal was made by executive producer and showrunner Angela Kang during The Walking Dead Comic-Con@Home panel....

They are creating the first attraction ever based on the popular wizard and his home at Hogwarts. Titled The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it is going to be a theme park-within-a-theme park. Variety is reporting that director Doug Liman has gotten actor Tom Cruise for the lead role in We Mortals Are, formerly know as “All You Need Is Kill”. Based on the graphic novel, the original story is in the vein of Groundhog Day, with a twist: A soldier in a war against aliens finds himself reliving his last day over and over after being killed. Through the training and battles he experiences in these time loops, he becomes a better soldier....

A video game, a movie, and a dedicated series are all the ingredients for an upcoming Tomb Raider cinematic universe. To be blunt, it’s not something most would’ve expected. Video game adaptations are entering a sort-of renaissance of quality titles, from Sonic the Hedgehog to HBO’s ultra-successful The Last of Us, but that’s just it. They’re one-offs, things that can be reasonably enjoyed as a standalone product. Pretty much any successful cinematic universe — or just the MCU so far — needs time, planning, and an investment from an already-established audience to even have a chance at justifying the immense costs involved in creating one....

Highland Film Group has recently revealed the first trailer for its upcoming family adventure drama The Tiger Rising. Based on the New York Times bestseller written by Kate DiCamillo, the upcoming film will star iconic rapper, actor, and producer Queen Latifah and Dennis Quaid (A Dog’s Purpose, Midway), in addition to a roster of talented cast members. The film revolves around 12-year-old Rob Horton (Christian Convery) who discovers a caged tiger in the woods near his home....

In the past few days, the latest animated series in the toy franchise Transformers has been gaining a lot of attention from the fanbase and the internet at large as a whole. ​The first non-binary character, Nightshade, has been added to the bots’ arsenal, proving its plot is more complex than it appears. The identity of Nightshade has been confirmed through a few screenshots which have been made public online. They made their debut at the end of Transformers: EarthSpark’s first season, which premiered on the Paramount+ streaming service in November of this year....

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Twilight nabbed four trophies this evening at the 36th Annual People’s Choice Awards. The event, which took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, was hosted by Queen Latifah. The four awards were for favorite movie, franchise and onscreen team for the trio of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Lautner also grabbed the breakout male actor award. Universal Pictures has hired Wanted screenwriters Derek Haas and Michael Brandt for Wanted 2. Here’s what Derek Haas had to say through his Twitter account earlier today.
