NBC announced that its multi-Emmy Award-winning drama “The West Wing” (Sundays, 8-9 p.m. ET) will conclude its storied run on Sunday, May 14 after seven hallmark seasons with an hour-long retrospective (7-8 p.m. ET) followed by a special series finale (8-9 p.m. ET), it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, NBC Entertainment. “We are proud to have had the opportunity to bring television viewers one of the most acclaimed series in television history,” said Reilly....

Lupe Guadagnino’s newest film, Bones and All, releases this week. It’s an uncanny hybrid of romance and horror, featuring Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russel as two cannibals struggling to keep themselves under control - and struggling to find companionship. The trailer looks equal parts grisly and terrifying as Chalamet’s character ‘Lee’ and Russel’s character ‘Maren’ trek across rural 1980s America. Tron 3 still hasn’t been announced yet. It looks like Walt Disney Studios is waiting to see how the recently released Tron: Legacy Blu-ray and DVD do on the sales charts before fully committing to another sequel. But director Joseph Kosinski is already making plans for an Untitled Tron Legacy Sequel storyline. The director says that early discussions have began regarding the idea of bringing Tron back to the multiplex for another helping of cash....

Sony Pictures has hired Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance co-director Brian Taylor to write and direct upcoming video game to live action adaptation, Twisted Metal. The film, and the game, revolve around an underground event that pits a number of combatants in a fight to the death. They are outfitted in armored weaponized cars that are pimped out with heavy weaponry that includes missiles and machine guns. Some drop mines or launch electrical charges....

Since its incipient glory with films like Rebel Without a Cause and The 400 Blows, coming-of-age has always been a staple genre throughout Hollywood and beyond. Whether its films’ characters mirror our own lives or exist in total opposition to them, we love to see stories of other people growing and adapting to life’s greatest obstacles. Although the coming-of-age genre has evolved and changed a lot over the years based on the desires of its audience, there still always seems to be a certain formula behind the genre at times....

WAFCA Names Forest Whitaker and Helen Mirren Named Best Actor and Actress United 93 takes best film and Martin Scorsese as best director. The Washington, DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) selected a movie honoring the memories of the brave heroes of September 11, the poignant United 93, as Best Film of the Year in a victory that could spur the movie’s burgeoning Oscar hopes. Director Martin Scorsese was voted by the group as Best Director for his smash hit movie The Departed, while Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) was named Best Actor, and Helen Mirren (The Queen) continued her march to the Oscars as she was named Best Actress as both actors brought characters to real, and even sympathetic, life....

Wanda Sykes has weighed in on the infamous slapping incident at the Academy Awards. The comedian, who co-hosted the ceremony with Regina Hall and Amy Schumer, spoke about the situation in a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres. Sykes said that after Will Smith smacked Chris Rock due to a joke made about Jada Pinkett Smith, she was left feeling disgusted, making it clear she disapproved of the Academy allowing the show to go on without any consequences for Smith....

Heading into its 10th season this fall, CBS’ The Big Bang Theory is more popular than ever.
