The Motion Picture Group, Inc., a production finance and services company, announced that it has optioned its second original screenplay April in December, a romance/fantasy comedy written by Michele Alexander & Tyla Berchtold. This enchanting screenplay is the first project using the combined talents of Alexander and Berchtold. Michele Alexander, co-author of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days stated, “Paramount made a terrific movie from my book. According to estimates from the Hollywood Reporter on April 12, 2006, the movie grossed over $177 million worldwide....

Principal photography has begun on The Tall Man, a mystery thriller written and directed by acclaimed French director Pascal Laugier (Martyrs, Saint Ange) and starring Jessica Biel (The A-Team, Valentine’s Day) in a leading role. A suspenseful thriller in the vein of M. Night Shyamalan’s earlier films, The Tall Man marks Laugier’s English language debut. Produced by SND, Radar Films’ Clément Miserez (Faces in the Crowd) and Minds Eye Entertainment’s Kevin DeWalt (Faces in the Crowd), the film will shoot for eight weeks in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada....

AMC announced today Thief of Thieves, a new project in development from The Walking Dead executive producer/writer Robert Kirkman and Charles ‘Chic’ Eglee (The Shield, Dexter) based upon the new comic Kirkman created under the same name. The Walking Dead executive producer David Alpert and Kirkman reunite with Eglee who will serve as showrunner. All three also serve as executive producers on the new skein. The comic book Thief of Thieves, a new crime caper published by Kirkman’s Skybound imprint at Image Comics, debuted on February 8 and sold out the same day....

Lauren Cohan makes her long-anticipated return to The Walking Dead. Season ten, episode seventeen, “Home Sweet Home”, picks up directly after the defeat of the Whisperers. Maggie arrives in the nick of time, but is stunned to see Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) free. Carol (Melissa McBride) admits she released him, and praises his role in killing Alpha. Maggie brings two new companions, but left Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller) behind. Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Kelly (Angel Theory) accompany Maggie to retrieve her son and new group....

Kate Bosworth and Diane Kruger are reading this week for the role of Lori, while Eva Mendes and Paula Patton will read for the role of Melina. In Paul Verhoeven’s original 1990 Total Recall, Lori was played by Sharon Stone, the dutiful wife who turns out to be a spy for the agency....

Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of New Moon, the second installment of its filmed franchise Twilight, the action-packed, modern day vampire love story. The movie will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series titled, New Moon. The first movie in the Twilight franchise, the self-titled Twilight, arrived in theaters this weekend to sold-out showings. Stephenie Meyer stated, “I don’t think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment....
