TNT’s new series The Librarians scored a huge launch Sunday night, drawing a combined audience of 7.3 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for its two-hour premiere and encore. The fantasy-adventure series opened with 5.4 million viewers for its 8-10 p.m. premiere telecast, edging out TNT’s The Last Ship to become cable’s #1 new series launch for the year-to-date in Live + Same Day delivery. The Librarians did especially well among key demos, with a total of 2....

Comic Book Movie has posted an exclusive press release from Allied I.M. that divulges the secret storyline behind Martin Campbell’s upcoming DC Comics adaptation Green Lantern, which stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris. The Simpsons have revealed the new voice actor for fan-favorite character Carl Carlson. Carl has been voiced by Hank Azaria since the show premiered back in 1989. There is only one exception to this prior to now, which is Carl’s debut episode in season 1 where Harry Shearer voiced the character. Producers of the long-running animated juggernaut announced over the summer that they would no longer have white actors voice non-white characters, which many other shows agreed to do too....

Yesterday, we reported several theater chains were planning to boycott the upcoming comedy Tower Heist, in response to Universal Pictures’ “premium home video on demand” experimental platform. The program was to be tested in Portland, Oregon and Atlanta, Georgia, which would enable Comcast customers in those regions to purchase Tower Heist for $59.99, just three weeks after its theatrical release on November 4. Today, Universal Pictures announced they are pulling the plug on this PVOD format....

Saying “bonk” more times than any actors in recent memory Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson get their ‘bonks’ in My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Chalk the ‘bonking’ and ‘sky-bonking’ references to the fabulous Uma Thurman. Both actors clearly had a great time making this movie. Its a bit more risqué than the previews have shown. Audiences will get some great laughs from the sex scenes, especially the ‘sore penis’ bit. Uma heads back to drama with her next film, “In Bloom” with director Vadim Perelman....

Universal Studios Home Entertainment Family Productions is co-producing with Film Afrika and ApolloMovie. Universal Studios Home Entertainment is distributing the all-new epic adventure, which expands the line’s presence into the live-action adventure arena for the first time. The film is slated for release on DVD in 2008....
