It looks like we’re getting some more What We Do in the Shadows. Director Taika Waititi is currently finishing up the promotional tour for Thor: Ragnarok, which arrives in theaters on November 3. No doubt, he’s been lining up projects as a result. He was a respected director previously, but Thor: Ragnarok is going to help give him a boost in Hollywood for sure. It looks like one of his next projects is going to be adapting his beloved vampire comedy for the small screen....

When James Cameron’s Avatar was released in 2009, it took the world by storm. Audiences everywhere (and we mean everywhere) sped to theaters and made this sparkling sci-fi epic nearly $3 billion at the box office. To date, it’s the highest-grossing movie ever made, topping Avengers: Endgame and Titanic. After such monumental success, an Avatar sequel was all but guaranteed. But 13 years later, fans are still waiting to see if James Cameron will repeat the first film’s explosive impact....

It seems Warner Bros. has picked February 13 to release The Departed on DVD. Synopsis: Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg star in Martin Scorsese’s new crime drama The Departed. This film is set in South Boston where the state police force is waging an all-out war to take down the city’s top organized crime ring. The key is to end the reign of powerful mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson) from the inside....

SPOILERS for Spider-Man: No Way Home. You have been warned. The latest Marvel outing Spider-Man: No Way Home and its relationship with legacy heroes and prior iterations could start a new trend, with director and known comic book lover Kevin Smith suggesting that upcoming DC movie, The Flash, should follow in its footsteps. Speaking on the latest episode of Fatman Beyond, Smith suggested that The Flash, which is already set to feature both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton as their respective versions of Batman, should also bring back The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale in the hopes of achieving its own “No Way Home” moment....

If you didn’t already know, Fox has a brand new, live-action X-Men TV series heading to the small screen later this year. And now we have the trailer to prove it. The network has released the first, full-length trailer for the show, which has officially been titled The Gifted, and it very much looks like an authentic addition to the X-Men universe. Fox dropped the trailer right on schedule, as they had previously released a very brief teaser for The Gifted, promising that the full trailer was on the way....

Open Road Films has acquired the U.S. rights to the highly anticipated, action-packed survival thriller, The Grey directed by Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin’ Aces) and starring Liam Neeson, from Liddell Entertainment. The announcement was made today by Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Open Road Films and Mickey Liddell, CEO of Liddell Entertainment. In The Grey, a group of oil-rig roughnecks are left stranded on the sub-arctic tundra after their plane experiences a complete mechanical failure and crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness....

It is the ultimate way to completely immerse the audience in the world of a film. After about thirty seconds, the viewer feels like a fly on the wall or even a witness in the film itself. Comedy Central has pulled from the ranks of “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” and today announces the Emmy Award-winning Larry Wilmore as the host of the #1 brand in comedy’s next great late night franchise. Wilmore will take over the highly-coveted post-Daily Show time slot in January 2015 as host of The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore, a comedic look at news, current events and pop culture from unique perspectives not typically on display in late night television....

The Minions are almost here. Illumination’s next installment in the Despicable Me franchise, Minions: Rise of Gru, will be hitting theaters July 1st. To celebrate, the social media accounts for The Office have brought together a crossover between actor Steve Carrell’s two landmark roles both on the small and big screen! The video is a recreation of the opening for The Office, but this time almost the entire cast has been replaced by Minions!...

We know that this current season of The Office will be its last, although fans have been constantly wondering whether or not Steve Carell will return as Michael Scott for the series finale. Today, NBC president Bob Greenblatt revealed that it is unlikely Michael Scott will make one last appearance in Scranton. Bob Greenblatt did confirm that the finale will be a special one-hour episode. Executive producer Greg Daniels also said they do have a few ideas on how to bring Steve Carell back, but he isn’t sure the actor will go for it....

Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale debuted in first for the weekend with their magic period drama, The Prestige with $14.8 million, however it lost some pace on Saturday to The Departed, according to Box Office Mojo. The two play rival magicians trying to find the one trick to top the other. Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson also star. The Departed stayed strong at the number two spot with $13.6 million; after three weeks, the Boston-based crime drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, and Matt Damon has made $77....

The Good Helen Mirren and the rest of the cast are superb. The Bad I wish there would have been a BBC documentary on the history that was put across in this film. The Queen is a well told, almost by the book tale of the aftermath of the death of Princess Diana. This film examines the class systems in England, but at the same time it also examines the class system that had evolved in the Royal Family due to Diana and Queen Elizabeth II (Helen Mirren) not getting along....

Making history yet again, The Simpsons has been renewed for its 31st and 32nd seasons on Fox, by which time, the series will have produced 713 episodes. Said Homer Simpson. The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history, The Simpsons exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. Currently airing its historic 30th season, The Simpsons has won 33 Emmy Awards, 34 Annie Awards, a 2016 People’s Choice Award and a 2016 Environmental Media Award....

Steve Blackman, the showrunner behind the Netflix superhero series The Umbrella Academy, is confident that the show will avoid a major mistake made by Game of Thrones. Much like the HBO fantasy show, The Umbrella Academy has now gone past the source material. While this was seen by many to mark a decline in quality for Game of Thrones, Blackman has explained to Inverse why he is not worried about the same thing happening with the Hargreeves siblings and their comic book world....

The Weinstein Co. and Lionsgate are in final negotiations to partner on the distribution of Teeth, the story of a virginal girl whose vagina turns into a secret weapon, according to The Hollywood Reporter: No word on when the film will be released in theatres. After initially passing on the film, the distributors revisited the project Sunday after a noon screening at the Eccles Theatre. It’s not clear which studio will take the lead on theatrical distribution or video, but the Weinsteins and Lionsgate have a strong history releasing controversial product together, including 1999’s Dogma and 2004’s Fahrenheit 9/11....

Stephen King is one of the most prominent names in modern literature. He has received many prestigious awards in his career, and in 2015 was given the National Medal of Arts from President Obama, the highest award given to artists by the American government. There have been over 70 Stephen King books and novellas ever since he released his first novel, Carrie, back in 1974 — he has a breathtakingly prolific average of two Stephen King books per year....

It’s a bold statement but one that Dick Parson’s appears prepared to live by. In a story from Home Media Retailing, the Time Warner CEO feels that if Wal-Marts preposed download-to-burn kiosks are a hit with consumers, this could spell the end of the “download/DVD window.” Talking at the Credit Suisse Media Conference, Parson’s seemed to feel that “studios, retailers and consumers” would benefit if this happened. He went to explan that it would allow “retailers to avoid expensive inventory costs while enabling studios to reduce manufacturing costs and get product out to consumers more quickly....
