The debut dates for the new seasons of the HBO series True Blood, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage have been confirmed. The 12-episode fourth season of True Blood will kick off Sunday, June 26 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT). Based on the popular Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris, this hit drama series was created by Alan Ball, creator of HBO’s Emmy-winning series Six Feet Under. The show follows the romance between waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, and her soul mate, 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer)....

Universal Pictures, in collaboration with Google, today announced “The Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google,” an online game inspired by Universal’s Bourne action series (The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and the most recent film in the series, The Bourne Ultimatum). Players will assume the persona of a former CIA operative as they track rogue agent Jason Bourne across three continents. The game, which launches Monday, July 16, simultaneously in seven countries, allows participants to answer clues that will bring them one step closer to uncovering Bourne’s identity, in the weeks leading to the opening of The Bourne Ultimatum on August 3....

Bleeding Cool is reporting that a Watchmen 2 sequel might be in the works. It was initially said that DC Comics Publisher and President Paul Levitz had stopped any Watchmen 2 projects from percolating. Levitz felt that this would severely go against Watchmen creator’s Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons hopes for the story. This all happened even though Moore had a very nasty break-up with DC Comics and Paul Levitz. In addition to that, the Watchmen comic book became DC’s biggest selling publication in the history of the company....

Friends alum Matthew Perry is developing an untitled single-camera comedy in which he will star, co-write and executive produce for Sony Pictures TV. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perry conceived the comedy in which he will play a self-involved manager of a second-rate sports arena who begins to re-evaluate his life on his 40th birthday. After meeting with a number of writers, Perry teamed with Sony-based Alex Barnow and Mark Firek, who will pen the script with him and exec produce....

Last month, it was announced that the Sherlock Season 4 premiere will kick off the New Year on Sunday, January 1, airing on the BBC for fans in the U.K. and on PBS for U.S. viewers. Director Irvin Kershner passed away over the weekend at the age of 87. His goddaughter, actress Adriana Santini, confirmed the news early Monday morning, but no further details were given at this time. Kershner is best known for his work directing Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, the second and most well received of the six movie franchise. He also helmed the James Bond adventure Never Say Never Again starring Sean Connery, and the often maligned sequel Robocop 2....

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is going to start production this weekend. Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan revealed the news over the weekend at Fandemic Tour in Houston. The production start was rumored back in May and has been confirmed, though Stan did not give a specific date. Anthony Mackie co-stars with Stan in the new Disney+ series, but not much is clear about the specific storyline. However, fans are hoping we will get to see some new Captain America when the show debuts....

Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures jointly announced today that the final film in Peter Jackson’s trilogy adaptation of the enduringly popular masterpiece “The Hobbit,” by J.R.R. Tolkien, now titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again, will be released worldwide on July 18, 2014. All three films in the trilogy are productions of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures. The Studios also announced the title of the second installment in the franchise, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which will be released on December 13, 2013....

Lionsgate, a leading global entertainment company, announced today that the home entertainment release of the first installment of its blockbuster franchise The Hunger Games sold an estimated 3.8 million DVD and Blu-ray units in its first weekend of release, continuing the momentum it demonstrated in generating more than $407 million at the North American box office, the 13th highest grossing North American release of all time. The Hunger Games was also the largest digital and on demand launch in the Company’s history, generating the biggest first day sales of any title on Zune Video on Xbox, achieving more first day transactions on Comcast than any title in the past four years and generating record Lionsgate revenue on iTunes....
