Anchor Bay Home Entertainment has released a new featurette for The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season, the upcoming Blu-ray and DVD set arriving August 28, featuring all 13 episodes of the hit AMC show’s latest season. The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s The Witcher was released back in December, with the hit-fantasy series receiving mixed reviews due to multiple changes from its original source material. Earlier today, the official Twitter account for The Witcher has revealed several concept arts giving fans a close-up look at the infamous Wild Hunt for the very first time. Troy is a historical epic film that is a vague retelling of Homer’s The Iliad, revolving around the conflict between Troy and Greece when Prince Paris convinces Spartan Queen Helen to run away to Troy with him, sparking a siege and the eventual destruction of eponymous city. The film stars Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana, Diane Kruger, Peter O’Toole, and Rose Byrne. While Troy was commercially successful, the film failed to meet the expectations of critics everywhere....
An Under Siege reboot is in development. While there’s no word at this time of original star Steven Segal returning, either in front or behind the camera, Deadline reports that movement has begun on a reboot of the 1992 action movie. The project is in the works at Warner Bros. with Timo Tjahjanto on board to direct and Umair Aleem penning the script. The plan is for the movie to head straight to streaming on HBO Max....
Universal and Dino De Laurentiis Co. are teaming up to reboot the 1984 horror Firestarter (starring a young Drew Barrymore), with Mark L. Smith set to pen the script. According to Variety, the studio aims to turn the reboot into a franchise property. Based on the Stephen King novel, the story centers on a girl able to start fires at will. The plot details for the reboot are being kept under wraps, but it is to be loosely based on the original Stephen King book, however, the main character is to be reinvented with a little more edge....
It was a wide open week with three different movies taking each of the three different home video charts this week, and one of them was surely traceable by the buyers. Untraceable was the top seller on the DVD sales charts, for the week ending May 18. The cyber-thriller just narrowly beat out another newcomer for the top spot, Great Debaters which finished second on the sales charts. The only other notable newcomer this week was Mad Money, but that was beat out by a classic character’s return to the shelves....
The red hot cable newtwork USA has firmed up another season for one of its series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, USA Network has renewed In Plain Sight for a third season. The network is also close to a deal to renew Law & Order: Criminal Intent and if that goes through, the network will have renewed all of its series that were up for renewal, an extremely rare feat. The network ordered new seasons of its Thursday night smash hit series’ Burn Notice and Royal Painslast week....
Ridley Scott’s new film just got one more prestigious addition. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vanessa Redgrave has joined the cast of Robin Hood. Redgrave will portray Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, the mother of King John, who is played by Oscar Issacs. Also joining the cast is Lea Seydoux, who portrays Princess Isabella in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, Inglourious Basterds. They join the already-assembled cast of Russell Crowe as Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian, Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey, the King’s henchman, Scott Grimes as Welshman Will Scarlett, Kevin Durand as Scotsman Little John and Allan Dayle as the Irishman Allan Adayle....
It seems that the media giant Viacom has avoided a PR disaster, for now. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Viacom has requested that Google, which owns YouTube, hand over data on the number of users viewing Viacom-owned content on YouTube, not information on the actual users themselves. Recently a judge ordered that Google sumbit YouTube user information to Viacom in the ongoing lawsuit, which created an online furor of protest. However, Viacom said on Tuesday that they would only require the amount of registered YouTube users who are watching the videos, not the actual names themselves, which Google agreed to....
Vince Vaughn said he would be open to a Dodgeball sequel during the premiere of his new Christmas movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Vaughn claims that not only is he open to it, but so is Dodgeball co-star Ben Stiller. Vaughn has yet to elaborate on what would make a Dodgeball sequel a good idea. However, he reportedly told Justin Long he had some ideas for the sequel. Long, also starring in Vaughn’s holiday movie Christmas With the Campbells, let this slip to fans just last month....
Director Terrence Malick will reunite with his star of The Tree of Life, Brad Pitt, for a companion documentary entitled Voyage of Time. Originally, Terrence Malick had planned to release both The Tree of Life and Voyage of Time as companion pieces, although Voyage of Time’s release has been pushed, since both movies deal with the same themes. Brad Pitt will narrate the documentary, although no time frame has been given for Voyage of Time....
A few weeks ago during New York Comic Con, The Walking Dead producer and comic book creator Robert Kirkman confirmed that the show will in fact cross over with Fear the Walking Dead, after years of stating that a crossover will never happen. There will be one specific character who will cross over into Fear The Walking Dead, which is several years behind The Walking Dead timeline, which has lead to a slew of theories about which character it may be....
