A TV series based on the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie True Lies is moving ahead at CBS as the network ordered a series on the back of a pilot given the go-ahead early last year. After a lengthy delay, the pilot was originally planned to fall into last year’s potential new shows but then slid back to this year. Starring Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga in the roles played by Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis respectively in the movie, the show will reboot the story and rework the original plot....

Tyler Perry is in some legal hot water involving four fired writers from his TV series. According to Variety, the Writers Guild of America - West has filed an unfair labor charge with the National Labor Relations Board against Perry’s company, House of Payne LLC. The charge alleges that last week Perry fired four writers from his TV series House of Payne and his new spinoff series based off his film Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns after they tried to negotiate a WGA contract for writers on those shows....

TBS has ordered a pilot for a new reality series entitled Undercover Karaoke, which comes from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Funny Or Die website. The series will be based on an exclusive video produced by the comedy hub that featured singer Jewel sneaking into a karaoke bar to belt out a couple of her hit songs while in disguise. The series will follow other singer/celebrities as they don a variety of different costumes to perform their own classic hits in front of unsuspecting karaoke bar patrons....

30 Rock will debut an all new episode on Thursday, February 3 at 10 PM ET on NBC, which will feature a special guest star. The comedy team behind It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are getting a new life on Apple TV+ as their new show Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet has been renewed for a second season ahead of its global premiere on February 7 on the streaming service. Sundown, starring Tim Roth, is set to hit select theaters starting January 28th, 2021, after a successful premiere at the Venice Film Festival last September. DreamWorks Studios has launched a casting search to fill a lead role in its upcoming movie “Welcome to People,” it was announced today by DreamWorks Studios. Actors interested in the role are invited to attend an open casting call on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. No acting experience is necessary for interested actors, nor are they required to prepare anything for the audition. Agatha Christie’s Poiroit was an LWT (and later ITV) produced period crime drama which starred David Suchet as the famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot. It ran from 1989 to 2013, putting out 13 seasons containing 70 episodes, by the end having adapted every major work which Agatha Christie wrote featuring the detective. Nine years after the final episode aired (and it’s very final; Poirot dies at the end), the show still holds up beautifully in every way....

Producer Andrew Kreisberg, who works on The CW’s Arrowverse shows, including The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow, has been suspended by Warner Bros. over sexual misconduct claims. According to a new report, more than 15 women and four men who have worked with Kreisberg have come forward with stories of ongoing harassment in the workplace. Warner Bros. TV Group had this to say in a statement in regards to Kreisberg’s suspension....

HBO’s The Deuce will be returning on September 9th for its third and final season. The network has released some images to coincide with the announcement. The third season is taking the porn drama into the 1980s, which was a much different time than the 1970s for the industry. Things don’t look like they’re going to end very well with the rise of HIV, the cocaine epidemic, and the big business of the 1980s about to take a big tumble....

The First Lady is going to be a single-season series. Per Variety, it has just been reported that Showtime will not be ordering a second season of the anthology series which explored the private lives of various First Ladies in different time periods. The 10-episode first season premiered in April and wrapped up in June. “Showtime can confirm that the anthology series The First Lady will not be moving forward with another season,” a statement from a Showtime spokesperson reads....

The long awaited film from “Lord of the Rings” trilogy director Peter Jackson based on the beloved book by Alice Sebold, “Lovely Bones,” is a dark, touching, ambitious and at times uneven film that is so powerful it overcomes its own faults. Jackson delivers a visually stunning film that at times distracts from the core story of the film, which is about dealing with the loss of a child, however the scope and depth of the film is so strong that along with the acting it overcomes its own short comings to create a moving and stirring film....

The Mandalorian Season 2 has already been reportedly ordered by Disney+. Season 1 hasn’t even debuted yet and Star Wars fans haven’t seen any official footage from the highly anticipated series at this time. However, that will more than likely change at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in a few weeks. No release date has been announced, but it is believed the show will premiere on the new Disney streaming platform sometime this fall....

The Silent Sea proved to be another smash success for Netflix as another Korean drama that had viewers gripped to their screens. Recently, K-dramas have been thrust into the international spotlight, particularly through the success of Squid Game. The Silent Sea is the most recent success story, and upon its launch at the end of 2021, managed to secure a top 10 spot in 88 countries on the streaming platform....
