It seems that one highly-acclaimed cult-classic TV series will finally be coming to DVD this summer. Sci Fi Wire recently caught up with Thomas Lennon while promoting his upcoming film 17 Again, and he said that The State will finally be coming to DVD in a full-series set on July 14. Lennon also revealed why it had taken so long for the series to come to DVD: issues with the music rights and the fact that the hardcore fanbase isn’t overwhelmingly large....

AMC’s new hit series The Walking Dead ended its six-episode first-season run on Sunday night and, although Season 2 is still nearly a year away, a rumor about a new guest star blazed through the internet yesterday. Socyberty reported that Charlie Sheen was set to guest star as a zombie on the AMC show, although it seems that rumor has now been shot down. E! Online reached out to AMC reps early this morning, and they said that the story was completely untrue....
James Gunn is a prolific filmmaker who has risen to superstar status by staying true to himself and his roots, even in the world of big budget spectacle. Gunn got his first job at Troma Entertainment where he wrote the script for Tromeo and Juliet. Since then, Gunn has had a fascinating and rich career, having written both live-action Scooby-Doo films and the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. According to Variety, Thomas Haden Church and Claire Forlani have left Showtime’s upcoming series Episodes. With the series presently in pre-production in London it is set to begin shooting in the next few weeks. Church wanted to leave because of scheduling conflicts with a film he’s trying to put together. No reason was given for why Forlani left. She was replaced with the British actress Tamsin Greig. The show stars Matt LeBlanc in a parody of himself....
Universal Pictures recently announced that the fifth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise Fast Five is going to cruise into theaters on June 10, 2011. Director Justin Lin, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are all coming back for this film where Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) are on the run from people that wish to see them behind bars. Chris Morgan is writing the screenplay. MacGruber was initially slated to open on April 23....
Allocine and VinXperience are reporting that actor Vin Diesel may in fact be set to star as the hero in french director, Mathieu Kassowitz’s Babylon A.D., based on Maurice G. Dantec’s book “Babylon Babies.” Kassovitz is on Diesel fuel. Previously, it was expected that French actor Vincent Cassel, Kassowitz’s long-time collaborator in various projects like La Haine and Crimson Rivers, would topline the science-fiction thriller, Babylon A.D. But, unlike announced in 2003, the actor - who can be currently seen in France in a wicked thriller called Le Sheitan - will not take part of this project....
Warner Bros. has some interesting releases planned for October and November. According to The Digital Bits, on October 24th the studio will be releasing Batman Beyond: Season 2 and Justice League Unlimited: The Complete First Season. No word on extra features at this time.
