When The Lion King was released in 1994, I was 17 years old, and animation just wasn’t cool if you were 17 years old. This is before the glory days of Pixar (and South Park), but still, for a kid my age, it just wasn’t cool to see The Lion King on the big screen. Naturally, years later, I did end up seeing this animated classic and, naturally, I loved it, but i never did get to see it the way it was meant to be seen, on a big screen in a theater packed full of people… until just a few months ago when I saw The Lion King in 3D....

The Mandalorian returns to Nevarro, reconnects with old friends, and learns that Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) is still alive. Chapter Twelve, “The Siege”, has the Razor Crest needing further repair en route to the rendezvous with Ahsoka Tano. Mando (Pedro Pascal) decides to stop by Nevarro and get his ship properly fixed. Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Cara Dune (Gina Carano) have cleared out the troublemakers, except for one big problem....

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has teased appearances from different variations of Thor in the MCU. Speaking with SlashFilm, Feige referred back to the source material that spawned the MCU in the first place – comic books – stating that they are constantly turning to them for inspiration and ideas. The Office: Season 5 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 8. The five-disc DVD set will be priced at $59.98 SRP while the Blu-ray set will be available for $69.98 SRP. The new Anthony Hopkins thriller The Rite will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on May 17. Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures are partnering on Repo! The Genetic Opera, to be helmed by Saw II and Saw III director Darren Lynn Bousman, according to Variety. He is reuniting with his collaborators on the horror franchise, the Twisted Pictures team of Mark Burg and Oren Koules. The futuristic clone-age fantasy is based on an original story by co-composers and screenwriters Terrance Zdunich and Darren Smith. In the not-so-distant future when an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet, scientists gear for a massive organ harvest....

Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), in an upcoming episode of Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, reveals that the 2019 ableist comedy-drama The Upside is getting a sequel. Based on the 2011 French film, The Intouchables, STX Entertainment’s The Upside is based on the true story of a quadriplegic billionaire Phillip Lacasse (Cranston), who befriends a recently paroled convict Dell Scott (Kevin Hart), and hires him as a caretaker. Initially screened at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, the film was shelved and sold off following the sexual abuse allegations against Harvey Weinstein....

There’s more of The White Lotus where the first two seasons came from. Variety reports that the hit series has just been renewed for a third season at HBO. Season 2 premiered at the tail end of October and is just three episodes in, leaving four remaining before we’re at the finale. Clearly, HBO execs are thrilled with how fans have already responded to the first half of the season so far, and this has resulted in the early renewal for another season of the Mike White-created show....

Hugh Jackman is currently preparing for his return as the iconic antimantium-laced mutant Logan in director Darren Aronofsky’s The Wolverine. In Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the actor revealed that he is putting on more weight than he ever has before in resuming the role, and has even sought help in training from Dwayne Johnson. Aronofsky has reportedly told Jackman that he needs to gain an extra twenty-five pounds of muscle mass....

A new clip from Thor: Love and Thunder puts the Asgardian and his buddy Korg together again for some classic, cringy banter. As shown on Good Morning America (via Movies Update), the new footage has Thor and Jane Foster come face-to-face after several years. As awkward as the exchange already is, the delightfully charming Korg is here to make things infinitely worse. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is one of the largest film events worldwide, and is often considered the antechamber to awards season. Now, after two years of a pandemic that struck the industry and the entire world, TIFF 2022 will return in full force, taking place September 8-18. Treat Williams, Samaire Armstrong and Kevin Pollak have signed on to the Lifetime original movie, The Staircase Murders from Lionsgate. The film is based on the real-life murder case involving novelist Michael Peterson, who was accused of killing his wife in their North Carolina home. The Hollywood Reporter says Williams will portray Peterson, a loving father, and picture-perfect husband to his socialite wife, Kathleen. But when the panic-stricken author frantically calls 911 to report that Kathleen has accidentally fallen down the stairs, investigators discover several suspicious findings and begin to question how she died....
