Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld films) is in final negotiations to direct Columbia Pictures’ Total Recall, it was announced today by Doug Belgrad and Matthew Tolmach, presidents of Columbia Pictures. The film will be a new, contemporized adaptation of Total Recall, which was based on the story, “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Kurt Wimmer is writing the screenplay. Neal H. Moritz will produce through his Original Film banner....

Elite Squad director José Padilha is teaming up with Gran Torino screenwriter Nick Schenk for a drug-themed action movie entitled Tri-Border. The story centers on a DEA agent who is sent to a drug-addled region of Paraguay, as punishment for busting the son of a U.S. Senator. The story will follow the various criminal enterprises in the region along the borders of Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil, as the agent tries to capture a drug overlord so he can return back to the United States....

Taylor Sheridan has been soaring high with Paramount and creating some incredible universes for the streaming giant. Yellowstone was just one example of how brilliant Sheridan is at weaving stories and keeping the audience hooked. His latest series Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone is also a major hit among fans and critics alike. TV Land celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of television’s beloved family sitcoms, Leave It to Beaver with a 24 hour marathon beginning on October 6th at 8:00PM ET/PT concluding on Sunday, October 7th at 8:00PM ET/PT. The marathon includes the rarely-seen 1957 pilot entitled “It’s a Small World” that features Jerry Mathers as the Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver; Paul Sullivan as Wally and Barbara Billingsley and Max Showalter as the parents June and Ward Cleaver....

It seems that Jason Bourne has found a permanent home at Universal, as has the rest of the works by Bourne creator, the late Robert Ludlum. According to Variety, Universal has come to an agreement with the estate of late author Robert Ludlum, that gives the studio exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character Ludlum created in his novels, plus first-look rights to the rest of his novels not dealing with Bourne....

The USA network has just made a deal with Lucasfilms and Paramount Pictures for the cable rights to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. According to Variety, USA is not only buying the latest sequel, but they will also get the rights to the first three films, Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom and Raiders Of The Lost Ark. USA will air the first three action-adventure films in May to promote Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’s May 22nd release date....

Warner Home Video (WHV) has announced the launch of two new programs, “Warnerblu Buy 5 Get 1 Free,” the Studio’s first-ever Blu-ray Disc customer loyalty program, and an HD-DVD trade up program, “Red2Blu,” which offers HD-DVD owners the opportunity to upgrade their Warner Home Video releases on HD-DVD for a Blu-ray Disc of the same movie. The newest member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame to be granted her own star is Salma Hayek. With her latest movie Eternals currently playing in theaters, it was recently announced that the actress would finally be getting the star with a ceremony of the festivities livestreamed over the weekend. The Jurassic franchise has undoubtedly stood the test of time. The The Incredible Hulk may be filming in Dundas, Canada, according to Dundas Star News: The Incredible Hulk arrives in theatres on June 13th, 2008. Producers of The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton and Liv Tyler, have scouted Dundas for filming locations and may shoot part of the blockbuster movie here next month. Film publicist Karen Pidgurski confirmed the Valley Town has been checked out for the major motion picture which also features actors Tim Roth, William Hurt and Christina Cabot....
