Director/producer Timur Bekmambetov revealed to he will be directing the upcoming film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, in an interview with Empire. We reported back in March that Bekmambetov was only producing the film and now it seems he will direct as well. Here’s an excerpt from the interview. Tracey Gold (Growing Pains) will star in the new Syfy Saturday Original Movie Arachnoquake, scheduled to premiere on Syfy in 2012. Joining Gold will be Bug Hall (The Little Rascals), Ethan Phillips (Star Trek: Voyager) and Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day). In Arachnoquake, massive earthquakes unleash giant albino spiders. Freed from their ancient subterranean prison, the spiders go on a murderous rampage through New Orleans. Mill Creek Entertainment and Indigo Entertainment (United Kingdom) are bringing the entire Ultraman superhero library from Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd to blu-ray this October. Indigo, on behalf of Tsuburaya, has developed a unique licensing deal with Mill Creek to bring this iconic property back to North America that includes both physical and digital distribution rights for the Ultraman catalog which includes classic TV series which have been newly remastered in high definition, recent theatrical feature films and almost everything produced throughout the last 50 years....
Variety reports that Universal Pictures will be making the musical In the Heights with Marc Klein writing the adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway play. Originally the show’s book writer, Quiara Alegria Hudes, was writing the script but Klein has been installed to give the priority project a rewrite. Universal is hoping that production will get underway in August. This would stay consistent with the play, which is set during the summer....
Vince Vaughn has acquired the rights to Ridley Pearson’s new novel The Risk Agent for an adaptation which he will star in and produce. Michael Lerner has been hired to adapt the screenplay. The story is set in Shanghai, China and centers on a Chinese National, working for an American construction company, who is kidnapped in broad daylight. The plot follows Grace Chu, a forensic accountant, and John Knox, a combat operative, hired by Rutherford Risk to recover the hostage....

Since the passing of beloved longtime host Alex Trebek in November 2020, Jeopardy! has struggled to find a replacement to fill the icon’s shoes. The CW Network unveiled the schedule for its 2009-2010 season today at a presentation for advertisers, affiliates and national media in the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The announcement was made by Dawn Ostroff, President of Entertainment, The CW. “In just three years, The CW has become TV to talk about, with culturally current, quality programming,” said Ostroff. “Next fall, we will have great flow from Monday through Friday, starting with the Monday pairing of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill, which made The CW one of the top destinations for young women this season....
