Principal photography is underway on New Line Cinema’s action comedy We’re the Millers, starring Jennifer Aniston (Horrible Bosses) and Jason Sudeikis (The Campaign). The film is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story). David Burke (Sudeikis) is a small-time pot dealer whose clientele includes chefs and soccer moms, but no kids-after all, he has his scruples. So what could go wrong? Plenty. Preferring to keep a low profile for obvious reasons, he learns the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished when he tries to help out some local teens and winds up getting jumped by a trio of gutter punks....

Andy Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish’s The Imaginarium and Urban Myth Films have announced a reimagining of The Wicker Man. The 1973 film, which starred Christopher Lee in one of his signature roles as Lord Summerisle, Edward Woodward, and Britt Ekland, remains a masterpiece of the horror genre and has influenced countless directors and film stars. Instead of a film, the property will now be developed as a television series, with War of the Worlds writer Howard Overman having written the scripts....

Yabba dabba doo! Fox has picked up The Flintstones, a 21st century version of the classic animated comedy from executive producer Seth MacFarlane. In a cross-studio collaboration, Seth MacFarlane will be produced jointly by 20th Century Fox Television and Warner Bros. Television. Warner Bros. is home to Seth MacFarlane via its ownership of the Hanna-Barbera collection of animated titles. Daniel Palladino (Gossip Girl) and Kara Vallow (Family Guy) will also serve as executive producers....

Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso gets the spotlight this time around in the new trailer for YouTube Red’s Cobra Kai. The last trailer focused on William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence character reopening the Cobra Kai dojo and training a new motley crew to never show “mercy.” Lawrence is down on his luck and takes a bullied high school student under his wing, much like Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-San in the original Karate Kid....

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs is officially coming back for a season 2 at Shudder. The streaming service just made the announcement and horror fans are going to be pretty excited. The second season will be just like the first with Joe Bob Briggs, aka John Bloom, going through some long lost and forgotten horror movies and giving some one-of-a-kind commentary on what we’re watching. Joe Bob Briggs is a horror legend and we’re excited to have him back and bigger than ever....

The first teaser for Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club was just released as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week. Adapted from the young adult horror novel of the same name by Christopher Pike, The Midnight Club tells the story of seven terminally ill teens that reside at Rotterdam Home. America’s Most Wanted is asking viewers for help in finding the driver of the car that struck Hoffstatter. Also profiled on Saturday’s show are Karl Goeke, a comedian accused of sexually molesting a neighbor, and Victor Willis, a member of The Village People who jumped bail after being arrested on multiple charges....

Marvel Studios left it very late in the day to release the first teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder. Having led many fans to believe it would arrive last Monday, today was the day that the Marvel fans got their Thor fix, as a brief 90 second teaser arrived with a lot of tantalizing shots and much left to reveal. Chris Hemsworth was also active on his Twitter account to welcome the trailer and promise fans that there is something “big, loud, crazy and full of heart” coming this July in his latest outing as the God of Thunder....

The 47th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, considered to be one of the most prestigious events within the movie industry, will take place from September 8 to 18 this year. Originally founded in 1976 by Bill Marshall, Dusty Cohl, and Henk Van del Kolk, its inaugural event had a lineup featuring 127 films and an attendance of 35,000 people. Since then, it has been growing by leaps and bounds throughout the years....

Tobey Maguire is going back to the comics, although not the one you’re expecting. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maguire has teamed up with producer Neil Moritz for the comic book adaptation of Afterburn. The comic just hit the stands in January and is published by newbie Red 5 Comics. The book is created by Scott Chitwood and Paul Ens, with Wayne Nichols illustrating and it deals with a post-apocalyptic Earth where the entire Eastern Hemisphere is wiped out by solar radiation, leaving those who survive mutated....

Top Gun: Maverick is one of the most successful films of all time, with Tom Cruise recently dethroning Thanos and Avengers: Infinity War in the sixth spot for all-time domestic box office sales. The film, released on May 27, brought in $679 million in North America, with an astounding $1.4 billion worldwide. The success could be chalked up to the fantastic marketing or the nostalgia from the original film with fans today....

A homeless drug addict and her five-year-old daughter struggle to find shelter after fleeing an underground encampment. Topside is a harrowing portrayal of poverty and destitution. The majority of the film is seen from the perspective of an innocent child. She’s taken from one dangerous situation to another. Carried by a desperate mother whose fear of authorities puts them both at risk of exploitation. Topside is tremendously upsetting. My heart ached the entire time....

MTV that there is nothing wrong with the film as it stands now. Executives were just so happy with the wrapped film that they decided to add some more spice to it, making it the film that everybody is eagerly waiting for. Peter stated, “They liked it so much, they are bringing us back for some encore time to beef it up. Add a little salt and pepper.” The film has been moved from December 12th to November 21st, due to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince dropping out of the Thanksgiving weekend....

Augustus Prew will be playing the role of the protagonist Adam Ellis, and Justin Long will be the head of BuzzFeed. The “Dear David” story took Twitter by storm when it debuted in the summer of 2017 and continued through the winter of 2018. It was a thread started by former Buzzfeed employee Adam Ellis and spanned over countless spine-tingling tweets. While many believe it to be a hoax, it has undoubtedly gone on to become one of the first and the most successful urban legends on Twitter....

Screenwriter David Koepp will come aboard to rewrite the Untitled Jack Ryan Project, which Chris Pine is attached to star in as Jack Ryan. Back in February, we reported that screenwriter Steven Zaillian was hired to rewrite the original script by Adam Cozad. However, Steven Zaillian dropped out before starting any actual work. David Koepp continues to be one of the most sought-after screenwriters in Hollywood, with blockbusters to his credit such as Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, and Spider-Man, just to name a few....

One of the young stars of The Twilight Saga: New Moon will be taking to the skies with Tom Cruise in his next film. Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Taylor Lautner will be joining Tom Cruise for the aerial adventure Northern Lights. While it wasn’t clear which characters Lautner and Cruise will play, the film is centered on a talented aerobatics pilot who tries to balance dealing with his wealthy father and falling in love with a young female pilot....
