Tragedy struck the set of AMC’s The Walking Dead last week when stuntman John Bernecker died after a high falling stunt went wrong. The 33-year old stuntman suffered a serious head injury after falling more than 20 feet from a balcony on to the concrete, missing his safety cushion by mere inches. John Bernecker was rehearsing a stunt when the accident occurred and had to be air lifted to a nearby hospital where he was later put on a ventilator....

According to Variety, The History Channel has begun post-production on 10 Days That Unexpectedly Changed America, an elaborate special for which it has enlisted filmmakers outside the usual History circle. Slated to begin airing in April, 10 Days will feature documentaries by “creative filmmakers who haven’t worked for History Channel before,” said Susan Werbe, VP of programming for the cable network. “We deliberately avoided the dates that we’d done a million documentaries on, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence or the attack on Pearl Harbor,” Werbe said....

The Hobbit has headed into production, and Ian McKellen, who reprises his role as Gandalf in both this prequel and the as-yet untitled The Hobbit Sequel, was nearby the set. He was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Martin Freeman doing a screen test as Bilbo Baggins in 3D, and he has shared his thoughts with fans. “I’ve seen Bilbo - in three dimensions.
I was visiting old friends in the Stone Street offices and heard Martin Freeman was just round the corner by the permanent green screen, done up as Bilbo, testing his costume in front of the 3D cameras....

Reel Chicago is reporting that Michael Bay’s Transformers 3 will start production in Chicago on July 4th for a seven week shoot. Chicago Film Office director Rich Moskal calls the upcoming big-budget shoot “a blockbuster in every sense of the word; in terms of economic impact, stunts and special effects.” Scheduled for a July 1, 2011 release, Transformers 3 is expected to provide the greatest amount of local union employment since Public Enemies filmed there in 2008....

Fox has issued a put pilot commitment to Unthinkable, an adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic book series of the same name. Here’s the official description of the comic book, created by Mark Sable and Julian Totinoere. Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24) is executive producing alongside Ben Queen, Boom! Studios CEO Ross Richie, Peter A. Golden and Hugh Fitzpatrick. No production schedule was given. “They’ve been hired to think the Unthinkable. Marvel Studios’ Werewolf By Night was one of the biggest gambles of the MCU so far. A homage to Universal horror movies of the 1930s and 1940s, the Halloween Special Presentation was a dark and violent black and white treat last month and has been hailed as one of the best Marvel projects to hit Disney+ since the platform launched. It is therefore no surprise to learn that one of its stars would be thrilled to reprise their role again in a future Marvel release....

As interactive multimedia experiences become more popular, streaming and television networks have been searching for new ways to engage viewers. In 2018, Netflix launched its first interactive content: an episode of Black Mirror called Bandersnatch, where the viewer’s choices determine the outcome of the story.
