The Dark Knight Rises has just added two more supporting cast members in Diego Klattenhoff and Burn Gorman. Although it isn’t known what role Burn Gorman will play, Diego Klattenhoff is playing a rookie cop who wants to make a difference in Gotham. While these deals haven’t been made official, offers are out to both actors. Diego Klattenhoff is also set to star in the Showtime series Homeland, which may lead to a scheduling issue....

Early this morning, Sacha Baron Cohen dressed as General Aladeen, The Dictator from the great Republic of Wadiya, to address his ban from Sunday’s 84th Academy Awards Telecast. Now, it seem, this was all just a ruse to promote the May comedy. According to producer Brian Grazer and Academy president Tom Sherak (who also happens to be a paid marketing consultant for Paramount Pictures, the studio behind The Dictator), Sacha Baron Cohen will be attending and is part of the show....

The Good Ultimately, this movie’s heart is in the right place. The Bad This film is horrible and all the extras in the world can’t save it.The Happening is one of those films that in different hands may have worked. It tells the tale of the world being attacked by an unknown virus that causes human beings to kill themselves. I could list out more of the story but that is all you need to know....

The 1990s is the decade known as the period that marked the end of the Cold War and contained advances in technology, including the internet. The ’90s brought significant developments in cinema and carried on traditional trends from the 1980s low-budget independent films that maintained their popularity throughout the decade. During the ’90s, full-length films were made to be displayed both on theater screens and smaller TV screens, featuring dialog with close-up scenes instead of wide-angle scenes made for theaters....

1999s The Mummy is a modern day classic. A swashbuckling action-adventure set in 1920s Egypt, starring Brendan Fraser as a reluctant American embroiled in a tale of the most pure of good vs evil. The Mummy has quite rightfully remained a fond memory in the dusty catacombs of 90s romps, and with so much universal love for Brendan Fraser’s gradual return to the limelight, The Mummy and its sequel Returns reveal a wildly confident twosome of beautiful films....

With The Simpsons continuing its legendary television run with no signs of stopping anytime soon, could another feature film adaptation be in the works? Previously, the franchise debuted The Simpsons Movie in theaters back in 2007, finally bringing the animated family to the big screen after many years of slow progress. Over the past 15 years, there have similarly been rumors reported at different points about a new movie potentially happening, but as of yet, no concrete plans to develop The Simpsons Movie 2 have materialized....

Fox is getting ready to launch the 30th season of The Simpsons and to celebrate, they have released a teaser trailer for their annual Treehouse of Horror show and announced the premiere date. The news was announced at San Diego Comic-Con this afternoon with creator Matt Groening, voice actress Tress MacNeille, director David Silverman, and producer Al Jean on-hand to reveal some information about the 30th season. In addition to the new Treehouse of Horror XXIX teaser, they also screened a clip from an upcoming episode where Homer goes to New Orleans, eats too much and has to visit a vomitorium....

The 80s were a fantastic time in television, movies, and music. Hair metal was popular, Robert Stack was helping the word solve one mystery at a time in Unsolved Mysteries as the shows third and longest running host, and Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe all reigned supreme as the royalty of Saturday morning cartoons. Whether your favorite phrase to shout when playing with your friends was “I have the power”, “Thundercats, hoh”, or “Yo, Joe”, there was one that possibly ranked above all others, especially when it came to 80s animated films....

The first trailer footage from the upcoming thriller The Ward has been released online. Another seven days has come and gone and left us with another slew of movie news, box office info, new official websites for upcoming flicks and new trailers. So lets get right into it with this week’s Notables. NOTABLES “Tara Reid To Star In and Produce, Honestly” - Monday, January 15: There’s just too much that sounds really really weird with this flick. First of all, we have the involvement of Tara Reid, who’ll both star and produce this flick....

There’s been a lot of debate over the use of a “fat suit” for Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale, but no matter where one stands on the matter, Brendan Fraser wishes people wouldn’t call it that. In the film, Fraser stars as a 600-pound recluse hoping to reconnect with his daughter as his health rapidly declines. To play the part, the actor needed to undergo a physical transformation that includes adding 300 pounds of padding and prosthetics to his body....

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY 6 Love and Rockets Fantagraphics Not all comic book adaptations need to be action-based, and an adaptation of Love and Rockets is waiting to happen. The indie comic from the 1980s that is still published to this day, Love and Rockets is an anthology series created by the Hernandez Brothers that follows two different plot threads depending on who is writing. One set, titled Locas, follows the tangled lives of a group of primarily Latina characters, from their teenage years in the early days of the California punk scene to the present day, while Palomar is a set of magical realist stories that take place in a city of the same name where modern technology has yet to be invented....

Romance is a beautiful thing to behold. Die-hard romantics go crazy for the mushy stuff, the number one winner being marriage, the ultimate romantic gesture. Historically speaking, marriage hasn’t always brought love into the equation and some modern marriages still don’t include consideration for the parties involved. That said, marriage has grown to become the ultimate symbol of love and commitment. With Valentine’s Day approaching, it’s only appropriate that everyone’s inner romantic come out....

There is nothing better than a good horror film. They bring so much to the table, including great performances, chilling special effects, and thrilling stories of dread. Horror films have become even more popular in recent years, and everybody is waiting for the next great movie to haunt their dreams. Universal Studios Home Entertainment continues its HD-DVD onslaught! In a story from DVD Town, the studio will be bringing out Timecop on December 26! Synopsis: The perfection of time travel brings with it new opportunities for criminals. The government sets up a special police force (T.E.C.) to ensure the new technology isn’t abused. Max Walker, one of these timecops learns of a corrupt politician’s plot to become president using the device....

This Friday, Blood Into Wine, a new documentary that follows musician (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer) Maynard James Keenan’s foray into the world of vineyards, is set to debut in select cities throughout the country. In support of the film’s release, we caught up with one of Blood Into Wine’s directors, Ryan Page, to find out more about this hilarious and heartfelt project. While chatting about Maynard’s dislike for the camera, he dropped some interesting news....

It’s hard to argue with the fact that Pixar Animation makes fun, innovative and quality family films. So it should be no surprise to anyone that “Toy Story 3,” the third chapter in the popular “Toy Story” film series is just as entertaining, funny and impressive to watch as the first film. Where the second movie seemed to be running out of steam towards the end, this film appears to have been reinvigorated by a great original script by writer Michael Arndt and wonderful new characters voiced by incredible actors such as Michael Keaton, Ned Beatty, Whoopi Goldberg, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin and Kristen Schaal....

Daredevil star Charlie Cox leads the upcoming Netflix series, Treason, and we now have our first look courtesy of several images and a poster. Released courtesy of the streaming service, the images find Cox looking somewhat concerned as his life as an MI6 Agent gradually becomes more dangerous than ever, thanks to his connection with a Russian spy.
