TV Land will celebrate the life and times of music legend and pop icon Elvis Presley throughout the summer of 2007, it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land. Kicking off TV Land’s tribute to Elvis in late July, TV Land and the city of Honolulu, Hawaii will honor Elvis with a life-sized bronze sculpture. The statue will grace The Neal S. Blaisdell Center, formerly The Honolulu International Center, the site of Elvis’ 1973 Aloha from Hawaii concert, which was seen globally on television....

The first reviews for the upcoming action movie Christmas outing, Violent Night, are now in and heap praise on David Harbour’s savage Santa Claus. Due for release next month courtesy of Universal Pictures, Violent Night finds Santa called into action on Christmas Eve when a family is taken hostage by mercenaries. So, is Violent Night a modern Christmas classic? Or is the cinematic equivalent to a lump of coal? We begin with Matt Donato of IGN, who describes Violent Night as being “nuttier than peanut brittle” that makes great use of “the B-Movie extremes that more than earn its hard “R” rating,” before concluding that “Violent Night brings the Christmas spirit to a gore-first action flick that delivers what’s advertised thanks to a top-form David Harbour....

Adult content provider Vivid Entertainment is leading the way in allowing it’s content to be downloaded, burned to disc and then played on DVD players not just on personal computers and portable devices. In a story from Home Media Retailing, starting on May 8th, Vivid “will offer select adult titles for download to DVD and playable on standard DVD players.” Vivid Entertainment plans to make 30 of it’s titles available through download portal CinemaNow....

AMC has just officially announced that we will learn the identity of the crossover character for The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead this coming Sunday on The Talking Dead. The crossover was first teased during New York Comic-Con in October by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, but nothing else has been officially talked about since then. The timing of the announcement comes at a time when the hit show is seeing its lowest ratings since Season 2 and the crossover is expected to boost ratings for both AMC shows....

It looks like writer-director Jonathan Levine’s 2013 adaptation of Isaac Marion’s zombie-romance novel Warm Bodies is coming back to a screen near you. No, there isn’t a sequel planned, but instead, today we have word that there is a TV series headed our way via Levine and Lionsgate. Even before it premiered on Disney+, Marvel’s Werewolf by Night was clearly something special, and indeed is even pitched as a one-shot “Special Presentation.” While the vast majority of MCU projects either fall into the film or TV series category, along with this December’s Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, the introduction of Jack Russell and Elsa Bloodstone takes the form of a 55-minute one-off special. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot, Bel-Air, continues to push new boundaries with its character development. While many fans enjoy the more dramatic, updated version of the Peacock original series, some are not happy with the changes. Bel-Air, which premiered Sunday, February 13, 2022, has expanded from the 20-minute American comedy that we remember into a full-on hour-long drama. One of the new elements in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is the introduction of Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman into the director’s Batman universe. While we know this is the filmmaker’s final installment of the trilogy, Warner Bros. is likely concocting another reboot of the iconic superhero, or perhaps a spin-off. The actress revealed in a recent interview that she would be interested in making a new Catwoman movie, provided that Christopher Nolan is at the helm....

Executive producers Naren Shankar and Ty Franck were on hand for the panel at Comic-Con. They were joined by cast members Steven Strait, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper and Frankie Adams. The teaser is very much that, just a tease of what’s to come. That said, it’s an explosive, action-packed one. Not a whole lot of context is provided for what is being displayed, but there is an awful lot of intriguing imagery, from lots of possibly dead people floating around in space to crazy advanced weaponry being deployed....

The third episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, “Power Broker”, opens with a commercial from the Global Repatriation Council. There are montages of families being reunited after the Blip. It ends with a motto, “Reset Restore Rebuild.” In Germany, John Walker (Wyatt Russell) and Lemar Hoskins (Clé Bennett) lead a tactical unit’s raid on the civilians who helped the Flag Smashers. Walker knocks down the door. The police grab the computers and arrest the users....

“The Fourth Kind” begins in a very daring and intriguing way, with the star of the movie breaking the fourth wall and talking directly to the audience. Milla Jovovich introduced herself and explained the premise for the film that we were about to see. I found this to be an extremely interesting technique. The actress went onto say that the film we were about to see was based on a real story and that actual footage from the events existed and would be integrated into the film....
