The CW has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for their upcoming superhero spin-off, The Flash. This inside look give us a closer look at the S.T.A.R. Labs Team, who are responsible for bringing back Barry Allen (aka The Flash). The FlashPilot will air this Fall on The CW. Barry Allen was just 11 years old when his mother was killed in a bizarre and terrifying incident and his father was falsely convicted of the murder....

The Greatest Beer Run Ever tells the almost unbelievable true story of a man’s sobering adventure during the Vietnam War. In 1967 Inwood, Manhattan, John “Chickie” Donohue argued with his younger sister about the war’s media coverage. She felt President Lyndon B. Johnson and the military were lying to the American people. Their tight-knit neighborhood had lost several close friends in combat. As preposterous as it sounds, Chickie, a merchant marine sailor, decided to bring beers to his fighting buddies....

Production continues on Peter Jackson’s two-part epic The Hobbit in New Zealand, which is being eyed for a December 2012 release. Today, actor Ian McKellen updated his personal website with news that Hugo Weaving has been confirmed to return as Elrond. Lionsgate and the filmmakers of The Hunger Games are pleased to announce that Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Lovely Bones) has been cast in the role of Caesar Flickerman in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel. Tucci is represented by CAA and Anonymous Content. About The Role Caesar Flickerman is utterly familiar to all the citizens of Panem as the l host of The Hunger Games....

In addition to the live-action remake of their animated version of the story at Disney, a follow-up TV series to The Little Mermaid is in the works at CBS Television Studios and Sutton Street Productions. Dubbed Washed Up, the series will be a single-camera comedy show from the mind of writer-producer Gracie Glassmeyer. Reportedly, Glassmeyer also serves as executive producer alongside Jennie Snyder Urman and Joanna Klein. The plan is for Washed Up to stream on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock as an exclusive program....

Showtime on YouTube has released an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming series premiere of The Man Who Fell to Earth. And by “sneak peek,” we mean the first five minutes. Featuring Chiwetel Ejiofor as an alien who falls to Earth, no doubt with news of impending doom. The intriguing opening should have audiences hooked and ready to see the rest of the limited series when it hits screens next month....

You can bring home all the excitement with Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones in high definition this December. The Mask of Zorro will be released on Blu-ray on December 1. We don’t have cover art as of yet, but this new BD disc will be priced at $24.95 SRP. Also released on that date will be a The Legend of Zorro/The Mask of Zorro Blu-ray two-pack, which will be priced at $49....

The Good Reminded me A LOT of all the things I love about “The Brady Bunch.” The shows were well written, succinct and dealt with everyday issues people face. The Bad Too much singing on a show that should have just focused on the plots of the stories they were telling. While not in any way shape or form as good as “The Brady Bunch,” The Partridge Family - The Complete Second Season was a really great show when the character’s weren’t singing....

We finally have our first look at The Simpsons taking on the world of Stranger Things. Fox announced the spoof for the Treehouse of Horror XXX episode over the summer with a poster. However, we now have a better look at how Springfield is going to morph into Hawkins. It just so happens that this year’s annual event with be the long-running show’s 666th episode, adding in an extra creepy element for horror fans....

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and actor Nicolas Cage have collaborated together on over seven films in roughly the last ten years and their latest production, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” is another example of their ability to make quality entertainment for the whole family in the classic Disney tradition. But it wasn’t always that way. The two began working together in the mid-’90s on action films like “The Rock,” “Con Air” and “Gone in Sixty-Seconds” for the Disney off-shoot, Touchstone Pictures....

Available for streaming on both Netflix and Disney+ (via Collider), The Spectacular Spider-Man is a terrific 21st-Century edition of Peter Parker’s adventures, especially as they pertain to his web-slinging alter ego. The Marvel Comics series was developed for TV by Greg Weisman and Victor Cook, and is based principally on the Stan Lee’s Amazing Spider-Man era. It’s a lovely balance of action, drama, and comedy in the familiar high school setting, while drawing on inspiration from the Ultimate Spider-Man comics as well as Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man film series....

HBO is calling it quits on The Time Traveler’s Wife. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the new adaptation has been canceled after a single season. Based on the Audrey Niffenegger book and starring Theo James and Rose Leslie, The Time Traveler’s Wife debuted on May 15 and wrapped up its run on June 19. The results were apparently not what HBO had been hoping for as it was officially announced that the show is now over, though the cabler praised the show’s creators in a statement....

Greg Nicotero says that The Walking Dead will not suffer due to the loss of Andrew Lincoln. Rick Grimes is the main character of the hit AMC show, so many fans are waiting to see how it will move on without him. However, executive producer Nicotero states the series will continue to evolve without Lincoln on board. With that being said, producers on the show are well aware of the fan reaction so far, and they don’t think that anybody needs to worry about the future of The Walking Dead....

X-Men is a superhero franchise following the lives of mutants who use their powers for good. Based on the classic comics by Stan Lee, the first of which was published in 1963, the first X-Men film came out in 2001, thus kick-starting a catalog of beloved films over the following two decades. Overall, The X-Men comics franchise has spanned almost six decades, beginning with the comics and drifting to other forms of media from films to TV shows and even video games on numerous consoles....

Spoiler Warning: Thor: Love and Thunder Taika Waititi is one of the more prolific directors as of late. Jojo Rabbit and Thor: Ragnarok were both met with critical acclaim, with the latter often being heralded as one of the best MCU movies. However, with the 2022 release of Waititi’s latest MCU installment, Thor: Love and Thunder, fans have become divided on the quality of the film. The harshest fan responses seem to drag its name into the mud, calling it unwatchable, while the more lenient reviews call for it to be watched through an uncritical lens to appreciate it fully....

The format war is over, with Sony’s Blu-Ray format triumphing over Toshiba’s HD DVD format, and now Toshiba is looking towards the future.
