Veteran actor Tony Sirico, famous for his role as Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri on the hit HBO series The Sopranos, has died. Per Deadline, the actor’s death was announced on Friday by by his Sopranos co-star Michael Imperioli, who played Christopher Moltisanti in the gangster drama. Sirico was 79 years old and just weeks shy of turning 80. “It pains me to say that my dear friend, colleague and partner in crime, the great Tony Sirico has passed away today,” Imperioli said in the announcement....

Two defendants linked to reality TV show Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s star Tim Norman in the murder-for-hire plot which left his nephew Andre Montgomery dead in 2016 have pleaded guilty. Terica Ellis and Waiel Rebhi Yaghnam were initially charged in August 2020 with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and mail fraud. A third party, Travell Anthony Hill, pleaded guilty on June 3 to conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire as well as a separate count of murder-for-hire....

UPDATE: 5/1/10 1:20 PM PSTDeadline New York has updated their original story and are now reporting that Matthew Vaughn will not be directing X-Men: First Class. The site now reports the studio has a list of directors that include Timur Bekmambetov, Louis Leterrier, David Slade, Daniel Espinosa and Carl Rinsch. It was also said that the studio would make a decision on the director next week, to gear up for a summer start date on the film....

Daryl (Norman Reedus) pays the price for his heroics in The Cell. He was taken prisoner in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Daryl struck him after Abraham was killed. This action directly resulted in Glenn’s head being smashed like a watermelon. Daryl was thrown in a van by Dwight (Austin Amelio). We now know where he ends up and it’s as bad as expected....

Fans have been waiting more than two months for AMC’s The Walking Dead to return from its midseason hiatus, and now the hit zombie series is just seven days away from its midseason premiere. To get fans in the proper frame of mind for the show’s return, AMC released a brief ad during the Super Bowl tonight, which signals the end of football season in quite the colorful fashion. Unfortunately, this trailer doesn’t feature any actually new footage from the back half of this season, but it’s quite entertaining nonetheless....

Warner Brothers and DC comics have lost a little bit of Superman, and could lose him completely come 2013. Judge Stephen Larson has given Superman’s co-creator Jerry Siegel rights to additional works in the franchise, including the first two weeks of the daily Superman newspaper comic strip and early issues of both Action Comics and Superman comics. According to Variety, this means that the Siegel estate now owns the rights to all depictions of Superman’s origins from the planet Krypton, his parents Jor-L and Lora, Superman as the infant Kal-L, and the launching of the infant Superman into space by his parents as Krypton explodes and his landing on Earth in a fiery crash....

Whether audiences were walking down the yellow brick road or joining the cast of Stagecoach on a ride through dangerous territory, fans and film historians alike generally cite 1939 as the greatest year in cinema history. Conn and Hal Iggulden’s bestselling hardcover novel The Dangerous Book for Boys has just been optioned for a theatrical adaptation by Disney. According to Variety, Scott Rudin nabbed the rights away from other hungry studios eager to make the film. The book is written like a how-to manual, and has no narrative structure to speak of. That hasn’t stopped Rudin from wanting to bring it to the screen. The thick guide consists of chapters ranging from historical battles to knot-tying techniques, coin tricks, astronomy and how to hunt and cook a rabbit....

The Golden Girls is probably the most well-known American sitcom of the ’80s and ’90s. Created by Susan Harris, this hilarious sitcom aired on NBC from September 14, 1985, to May 9,1992. A whole generation of American youth grew up on this sitcom, making Friends its successor. All the stories revolving around Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia, and Rose have won people’s hearts since the ’80s. At the end of 2021’s video game adaptation of Mortal Kombat, the film’s final scene teased the introduction of a fan-favorite character from the games, Johnny Cage. As described in the games, the character’s backstory is that Johnny Cage’s real name is Jonathan Carlton. Originally a cheesy action movie star, he became one of the defenders of Earthrealm in a battle against the forces of Outworld. Previously the character was played on film by Linden Ashby in 1995’s Mortal Kombat and Chris Conrad in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation....
