The cast and creators of the hit HBO series The Sopranos will soon reunite for a special live fundraiser to benefit Friends of Firefighters, an organization founded in the aftermath of 9/11 to support active and retired FDNY firefighters and their families. A two-hour virtual event, the reunion will be hosted on Tiltify’s Twitch page this week on the evening of Friday, Dec. 18. That’s a wrap on season 3 of The Umbrella Academy. After the hit superhero series was renewed by Netflix last year, filming on season 3 kicked off back in February and continued through the summer. In a new video posted to social media, the cast of the series announce that they’ve wrapped the upcoming season, and they seem just as excited as the fans for the new episodes to come out....

With the second season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy recently exploding onto screens everywhere, the creatives behind the show are pondering where to go next. Well, one idea that has been posited is a spinoff centered on Robert Sheehan’s character, Klaus, an idea that Sheehan himself is more than happy to get behind. Gifted with the ability to communicate with the dead and raise them as ghosts, Klaus has become an addict in an attempt to curb the undead voices in his head....

The Walking Dead may be coming to an end but we have a long way to go before that happens. AMC recently announced that season 11 will conclude the long-running zombie series. To commemorate the announcement, they have released a new trailer that sets up the show’s final run of episodes. Though it doesn’t contain much in the way of new footage we do get a brief glimpse at some new characters who will be entering the fold....

Howdy folks. After a nice little holiday sabbatical, I’m back to look at the past seven days of movie goodness. So lets get this party started with this week’s Notables. The main part of the story sounds pretty good, with Hank Azaria, the voice of many beloved characters on The Simpsons and a fine human actor as well, making his directorial debut here....

Things are not looking good for the remaining scripted shows of The CW, with new reports suggesting that even more will be cut than initially thought. Unfortunately, one of those shows in jeopardy is The Winchesters, the prequel series to Supernatural. Having just had its mid-season premiere, it would be around now that the showrunner would be looking to a potential new season, but as of yet, creator Robbie Thompson has no idea whether a second season is on the cards or not....

Every once in a while an acting performance comes around that is so strong and powerful it transcends the actual movie that the performance appears in despite any shortcomings that the film may have itself. William Hurt’s role in The Yellow Handkerchief is one of those performances. Playing ex-con Brett Hanson, Hurt makes this otherwise unlikable character into a fascinating study of anger management and a broken man trying to put the pieces of his life back together....

Sixty-seven years after the brutal murder of fourteen-year-old Emmett Till in Money, Mississippi, the United States Congress finally passed the Emmett Till Antilynching Act. During the time that has passed since the lynching of Till a lot has changed for African-Americans in the United States, much in part to the efforts of the Civil Rights Movement and organizations like the NAACP. But, at the same time, the situation still has not improved to the level where one can say that nonwhite citizens in the United States have equal rights and opportunities....

Alexandra Shipp is the latest Barbie cast member in a Barbie world. On March 18, 2022, Tragedy Girls and Tick, Tick … Boom! actor Alexandra Shipp has joined the cast of Academy Award-nominated director Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Two-time Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling as Ken, per Variety. Barbie is set for a 2023 release.
