Director Peter Jackson took to his Facebook page earlier today with news that Orlando Bloom is now confirmed to return as Legolas in The Hobbit. Read the director’s entire post below. We reported back in April that Orlando Bloom had still not been confirmed to return for The Hobbit, even though he had been in discussions to reprise his Legolas role since December. While it isn’t clear why the negotiations took so long, Legolas will indeed be returning to Middle Earth....

The trend of movies getting TV adaptation continues. NBC is reportedly developing a new series based on The Italian Job, which is being inspired by both the 1969 original and the 2003 remake. The series will not be a continuation of either movie, rather a reboot, which means it isn’t likely we’ll be seeing Mark Wahlberg, Mos Def or Jason Statham show up this time around. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, but they didn’t mention any actors who are attached to this new version of The Italian Job....

Legacy sequels and the 1980s are seriously on-trend right now, which makes a sequel to the 1984 space opera The Last Starfighter the perfect project. Or, at least, it should. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Rogue One and Star Wars Rebels writer Gary Whitta revealed that he is still working hard on bringing a follow-up to The Last Starfighter to the big (or small) screen. The Walking Dead: World Beyond takes place a decade after the zombie apocalypse. The show follows a group of teenagers as the first generation to grow up in a decimated society. The series premiere, “Brave”, introduces sisters Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Hope (Alexa Mansour) Bennett. They live in the “Campus Colony” at Nebraska State University near Omaha. It’s part of three surviving communities in Omaha, Portland, and the Civil Republic in between....

Netflix is moving right along with The Witcher season 2. The fantasy show made its debut on the streaming service in December and quickly became a huge hit. Henry Cavill will be returning as Geralt of Rivia for another round of swords and sorcery and he’s going to have some company in the form of Dolittle star Carmel Laniado, who is joining the cast in season 2. The stars will be getting to work in a hurry, as production is set to begin very soon....

Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, sounded off on Twitter about the Jussie Smollett case. Just two days ago local prosecutors in Cook County announced they were dropping all the charges against Smollett. That decision has rippled all the way up to the White House. Empire creator Lee Daniels went off himself on Instagram before knowing that the charges would be dropped. Lee didn’t know what the future held as he said the cast was experiencing, “Pain, frustration, and anger”....

It’s official! Jordan Peele is our new host of The Twilight Zone. CBS has been planning a reboot of the classic sci-fi series since last year and they have already committed to a series order. Peele, who is coming off of an Oscar win earlier this year for his work on Get Out was already on board as a producer, but now it’s been confirmed, thanks to a new teaser for the rebooted version of the show, that he will be taking over the role once held by the legendary Rod Serling....
