It was announced today that Wayne Wang (Maid In Manhattan, The Joy Luck Club) will direct a new Albert Einstein biopic from a script written by Academy Award winning screenwriter Ronald Bass (Rain Man, Entrapment, My Best Friend’s Wedding). The upcoming Predator prequel Prey, soon to be streaming on Hulu, has reignited a chilling old debate. Beginning in 2012, Ridley Scott revitalized his classic sci-fi horror franchise with Prometheus, a prequel to 1979’s Alien. Prometheus introduced many bold and intricate ideas to the world of Alien, such as the mysterious black goo, which can birth prototype Xenomorphs, and the fact that Engineers quite literally engineered all life on Earth. The movie is not a direct prequel to Alien, but it and its sequel, Alien: Covenant, build-up to the eventual creation of the classic Xenomorph found in Alien....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures’ on-again, off-again The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is off again as far as the studio is concerned. Paramount confirmed Friday that the long-gestating project, which was to have starred Owen Wilson, is in turnaround. Sources said the project lost momentum at Paramount after the studio failed to cast a female lead to play opposite Wilson. Scarlett Johansson emerged as the front-runner after screen-testing with Wilson this month, but a deal never closed....
