CW has released the first trailer for The Winchesters, the Supernatural prequel. Drake Rodger (The In Between) and Meg Donelly (American Housewife) star as John Winchester and Mary Campbell. Jensen Ackles reprises his role of Dean to serve as the series narrator. Based in the 1970s, The Winchesters focuses on the untold love story John and Mary, the demon-hunting parents of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean. The trailer shows audiences a young John upon his return from Vietnam....

Just over 12 years after the theatrical feature film Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events hit the big screen, Count Olaf, the Baudelaire siblings and Lemony Snicket himself will return on the small screen. Netflix will debut their new TV show A Series of Unfortunate Events starting January 13. To get fans ready, the streaming service has debuted a new trailer and photos. This trailer gives fans a new look at Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, who takes an unusual approach to promoting his dire show....

Universal Pictures has begun production on Breach, starring Academy Award® winner Chris Cooper (Capote, Adaptation), Ryan Phillippe (Crash, the upcoming Flags of Our Fathers) and Academy Award® nominee Laura Linney (Kinsey, “You Can Count on Me”), and written and directed by Billy Ray (Shattered Glass). Co-financed by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE), with Universal to release the film in North America and Kimmel International to distribute globally, the film is produced by Bobby Newmyer (Training Day), Scott Kroopf (The Last Samurai) and Scott Strauss (Mindhunters) and executive produced by Adam Merims (Shattered Glass) and SKE’s Sidney Kimmel and William Horberg....

Universal has optioned Resurrection, an Oni Press comic book series written by “Eli Stone” co-creator Marc Guggenheim. Universal-based Scott Stuber is producing the project along with Eric Gitter of Closed on Mondays Entertainment, the producing arm of Oni Press. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Resurrection begins where most other alien invasion movies end, centering on a group of survivors trying to take back control of the planet after an apocalyptic invasion....

Yesterday, Netflix teased a 30-second sneak peek at The Punisher, with the full trailer finally arriving today. And it is exactly what you’d expect for a character called the Punisher. The first look at the highly anticipated series came in the form of a post-credit surprise at the end of Marvel’s Defenders in late August. That initial introduction is nothing compared to this new 2-minute trailer. In addition, the new trailer teases the official release date by making fans guess when the show will make its debut on Netflix....

The writers behind this year’s Christmas action flick Violent Night, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, have a major new franchise in mind with David Harbour’s Santa at its center. Speaking with SyFy, the writing duo revealed their plans for “lots of sequels,” each of which would lead to “crazier and crazier” goings-on. One element they would love to explore more is Santa’s mysterious, and very violent, backstory. Offering glimpses of Santa’s past as Viking warrior Nikamund the Red, Casey and Miller were careful not to force themselves into a creative corner should Violent Night 2 get given the greenlight....

The Good A very well put together two disc DVD that really captures the full spirit of the movie. The Bad I would have liked more musical sequences with the real Johnny Cash. I loved Walk the Line when I watched it in the theater and I can safely say that it loses nothing on DVD. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon really did fine jobs inhabiting the lives of Johnny and June Carter Cash....

DreamWorks has released an official plot synopsis for director Steven Spielberg’s upcoming action adventure War Horse, which is based on the novel of the same name by Michael Morpurgo. Here’s what it says: “From director Steven Spielberg comes “War Horse,” an epic adventure for audiences of all ages. Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, “War Horse” begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him....

Warner Bros. has bought the rights to the lives of Valerie Plame and Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the married couple drawn into a D.C. firestorm. Variety notes Plame’s status as a CIA agent was revealed by White House officials allegedly out to discredit her husband after he wrote a 2003 New York Times op-ed piece saying that the Bush administration had manipulated intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq....

The Tanner gang returns, just in time for the holidays, when Warner Home Video releases Full House: The Complete Fifth Season on DVD December 12, 2006. The four-disc set includes all 26 episodes from season five and is priced at $29.98 SRP. Set in San Francisco, Full House chronicles the adventures of the Tanners, an unconventional family headed by Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), a doting, widowed father who’s left to raise his daughters....

Westworld is officially coming back in 2020. HBO released a rather sneaky trailer for season 3 before the final Game of Thrones episode and people are freaking out.
