Finding an actor to replicate Mike Tyson’s outlandish personality was no easy task, but Hulu has found their man with Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight). The trailer for Mike, which was just released, depicts Tyson at different points in his career. “You may know Tyson. But do you know Mike?” the trailer asks, suggesting audiences will get a deeper look into the life of Mike Tyson, aside from all the press and controversy that surrounded the boxer throughout his career....

Former radio shock jock and talk show host Wendy Williams has gone through a series of personal battles of late and is obviously not going down without a fight. She even claims to have only $2 to her name due to a frozen bank account and relies on financial aid from friends all because Wells Fargo believes the Jersey native may require guardianship over her accounts. The controversial 57-year-old divorcee has faced ongoing health challenges and seen the cancelation of her talk show after a round of guest hosts took her place until her return....

Netflix has released the first trailer for Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, an all-new eight-part limited series, launching globally Friday, August 4 everywhere Netflix is available. At the end of the original Wet Hot American Summer movie, Bradley Cooper’s character Ben proposes that all of the camp counselors reunite 10 years later, “to see what kind of people we blossomed into.” True to their word, these counselors all return to Camp Firewood a decade later, and as you can see from the trailer, a lot has changed....

The Batman is proving to be a hotly anticipated ticket at the multiplex this year. When the teaser was first released at 2020s DC FanDome, audiences were graced with a pretty radical version of Batman lore. Dark, gritty, and very reminiscent of film noir, director Matt Reeves seemed to go above and beyond to show fans a hyperreal version of Gotham and its notorious citizens. Casting Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight raised a few eyebrows, but if we are to go by the reviews currently trickling in, he seems to be the quintessential Batman....

The CW, the sometimes-forgotten fifth broadcast network, has announced the midseason return dates for a majority of their programming. The CW’s scheduling has always worked differently than the “Big 4” broadcast networks. For starters, they typically hold back their fall premieres until the second or third week of October, which allows them to avoid the competition of the traditionally busy late-September premiere week. The network will repeat this strategy in midseason, holding back until later in January or February while the other networks battle it out for ratings the first week of the new year....

Warner Bros. has applied for local permits to shoot a portion of Batman sequel The Dark Knight in Hong Kong this fall, according to Variety. In director Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to Batman Begins, the caped crusader will leave Gotham City for the first time in the history of the film franchise to fight evil in another city – or cities – although it’s unclear whether Hong Kong will be called Hong Kong or a fictional metropolis....

Actress Lily Collins is in final negotiations to join The Evil Dead remake for Ghost House Pictures and director Federico Alvarez. The story centers on five friends who journey up to a remote cabin where they discover the Book of the Dead, and unwittingly unleash demonic forces. We reported in October that one of the characters goes on the trip into the woods to try and kick her drug habit. Lily Collins will play Mia, the drug addict who doesn’t take well to her newfound sobriety....

Legendary Hollywood animator Joseph Barbera, whose characters Fred and Wilma Flintstone and Scooby-Doo made generations of people laugh, died on Monday at age 95, the Warner Bros. film studio said in a statement. Barbera founded Hanna-Barbera Studios with his partner William Hanna nearly 50 years ago, and it grew to become one of Hollywood’s best known animation companies producing hundreds of cartoons and winning numerous awards. Reuters reports that he died at his home in the Los Angeles-area community of Studio City with his wife Sheila by his side....

Anne Fletcher’s hit summer romantic comedy The Proposal will get on its knees October 13th, crawling into your home on DVD and Blu-ray with both a single and double disc release. The two-disc version will include a digital copy, while the video will be presented in 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack. When high-powered book editor Margaret (Sandra Bullock) faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she’s actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds), who she’s tormented for years....

The CW has dropped a new trailer for The Winchesters, a new show that serves as a prequel to the hit series Supernatural. A spinoff that focuses on the “love story” between Sam and Dean’s parents, The Winchesters stars Drake Rodger as John Winchester and Meg Donnelly as Mary, though their future-son Dean (Jensen Ackles) also appears in the trailer. Netflix has officially renewed The Witcher for a fourth season ahead of season 3’s premiere, via TUDUM, but with the renewal comes a major change. For the first two seasons, along with the upcoming third season, Henry Cavill has starred in one of the lead roles as Geralt of Rivia. On Saturday, Cavill announced that he would be leaving the show after season 3 with actor Liam Hemsworth coming in to replace him as Geralt for season 4....

Among the best parts of growing up in the ’80s was getting up on a weekend, filling a giant bowl of breakfast cereal, and then plunking in front of the television to watch cartoons. On the weekdays, one could watch various cartoons that aired during those crucial hours every day after school, until just before supper. Even though we do have cartoons now, and there are many good ones for both children and adults, it’s difficult not to remember those glorious days of the 1980s, full of bright colors, loud noises, and silly jokes....

They make the audience weep, scream in horror, and try to anticipate what they might do in that situation. A few of these characters live through incredibly difficult situations, forcing them to act and make difficult, sometimes agonizing and unbearable decisions. These are the ones the viewers remember, making them wonder: “What would I do in this situation?...

Depression is a mental health condition that can manifest in myriad ways, and which can affect everyone differently. Some people may feel lonely, detached, or unmotivated, while others experience more severe symptoms. Depression is a difficult thing to understand for people outside of the condition (which is why movies about it are so important). David Foster Wallace summarizes the true pain of it beautifully in his book Infinite Jest: Mental health difficulties, and specifically depression can negatively impact someone’s daily life, bringing a multitude of negative emotions and can even damage the ability to sleep, work, and enjoy life....
