All-new episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, the unscripted series featuring Chef Gordon Ramsay helping fledging restaurants turn their luck and their businesses around, will start cooking Friday, Oct. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox. Touch, the critically acclaimed adventure drama starring Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland (24) will now have its second season premiere in January 2013 (date and time to be announced). In the fifth season of Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsay treks to Brooklyn, Boston, Pittsburgh and the suburbs of Los Angeles and Cleveland, to help struggling restaurants stay afloat....

It seems that a new film starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn will also feature some ancient extinct creatures. Hollywood Elsewhere is reporting that a quote from Empire Magazine has surfaced from visual effects artist Mike Fink who related he was working on dinosaur effects for Tree of Life. Interestingly enough, the film’s synopsis doesn’t quite indicate the involvement of dinosaurs: “We’re just starting work on a project for Terrence Malick, animating dinosaurs, the film is Tree of Life, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn....

Fox has issued a put pilot commitment for a new TV series based on the 1994 action-comedy blockbuster True Lies, with original director James Cameron set to executive produce the series. He will be joined by fellow executive producers McG, through his Wonderland Sound and Vision company and Arrow co-creator Marc Guggenheim. With the network issuing a put pilot commitment, that practically guarantees the show will get a series order, since the network will have to pay a substantial penalty to the producers if the pilot episode doesn’t air....

Universal Pictures is aggressively pursuing the rights to War Heroes, a comic book by Kick-Ass’ Mark Millar and Tony Harris. The project was just freed from Columbia Pictures, who acquired the rights in 2008 through producer Michael De Luca. Michael De Luca is still set to produce this tale of ordinary soldiers given superpowers on the battlefield by the US military. Chris Morgan and Dana Brunetti will co-produce. Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, who are in the midst of writing Doctor Strange for Marvel Studios, will pen the War Heroes screenplay, which will revolve around this group of super soldiers going AWOL to form their own criminal enterprise....

For all intents and purposes, Kevin Hart has been one of the leading men in comedy since he launched in 2002. From the first film he ever starred in, Paper Soldiers, to his most recent launch, Me Time, a lot has changed. The Walking Dead is not the ratings juggernaut it once was for AMC. Viewership has dropped by many millions since the peak of the show, leading to speculation that the series is on its last legs. Still, even with falling ratings, the show remains one of the most popular programs on television. AMC also remains optimistic about its future, suggesting the show could go on for another ten years. For now, the show is safe, as the network has already renewed it for a tenth season....

Even casual fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead likely know that the villainous Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan named his barbed-wire bat Lucille, but those who aren’t familiar with the comic books may not know why. The bat that killed off fan favorite characters Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) was named after Negan’s late wife, which is revealed in the comics. While it isn’t known yet if the series ma feature the Negan character’s late wife in a flashback series of some sort, Jeffrey Dean Morgan revealed in a recent interview that if it does happen, he knows just who should play her....

It seems that Warner Bros. will be heading back to the Great Depression era for a new magic-fueled project. Film School Rejects is reporting that Warner Bros. has optioned the 2002 Glen David Gold novel Carter Beats the Devil. The site heard the news from the author himself, who responded to an email the site sent. Here’s a description of Gold’s novel by its publishing house, Hyperion.
