Television’s most wholesome family is coming back to the small screen. The CW’s The Waltons’ Homecoming, which premieres on Nov. 28, serves as a fresh reboot of the classic television series. While Logan Shroyer will play a new incarnation of John Boy Walton, original Waltons actor Richard Thomas returns to serve as the narrator of the television special, and he’s more than happy to pass the baton to the new cast....
Another name has been announced for the cast of Reagan, a biopic about late actor and former U.S. president Ronald Reagan. Dennis Quaid stars in the film as the titular president, and per Deadline, it has now been revealed that Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years) has boarded the project as well. He’ll be playing former Speaker of the House Thomas “Tip” O’Neill. He may play a key role in the film, as O’Neill and Reagan were known for their friendship during the 1980s despite having opposite political views....

The CBS executive suite is the latest on the chopping block for big network television companies making cutbacks. CBS’s president and CEO George Cheeks recently dismissed CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl who company insiders believed “was going to be buried at CBS.” The prominent executive was a veteran of CBS after 26 years of service and still had quite a bit of time left on his contract. Kahl was let go alongside his top lieutenant Thom Sherman, who aided Kahl in running the broadcast network for five years....

The producers of Day Watch (are planning a sequel to one of the nation’s most popular Soviet-era films, the romantic comedy, Irony of Fate. Timur Bekmambetov will direct and Konstantin Khabensky will star; the film was written and directed by Eldar Ryazanov. It tells the story of a group of friends in Moscow who get blind drunk while partying at a Turkish bath on New Year’s Eve. One of them is supposed to fly home to Leningrad to join his wife to celebrate the New Year, but by mistake they send Muscovite Zhenya instead, who is too drunk to notice....
It was perhaps inevitable, but The Gabby Petito Story is now in the works at Lifetime. Deadline reports that the TV movie, which is obviously inspired by the death and disappearance of Gabby Petito, has gotten the green light with Thora Birch on board to co-star in a major role. Birch is also set to make her directorial debut with the movie, which is said to be a part of Lifetime’s Stop Violence Against Women public affairs initiative....

Last month, we reported that AMC is bringing The Killing back from the dead, four months after they cancelled the series. Today, we have word that cast members Bill Campbell, Brent Sexton, and Michelle Forbes will not be back for Season 3. Bill Campbell played Seattle mayoral candidate Darren Richmond, who was once thought to be a prime suspect in the murder of local teenager Rosie Larsen. Brent Sexton and Michelle Forbes played Rosie’s grieving parents....
The Last Kingdom is a condensed adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s novel series, The Saxon Stories. The series premiered on the BBC on October 10, 2015, and was acquired by Netflix in 2018. Netflix premiered the last three seasons, with season five premiering on March 9, 2022. The Last Kingdom follows Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a Viking-raised Saxon on a quest to reclaim his birthright of Bebbanburg. The series takes place in the late 800s when England was not united, and dealt with the threat of the Danish Vikings....
