Entertainment announced that its critically praised hit reality series Who Wants To Be a Superhero? starring Stan Lee has been green lighted for a second expanded season by NBC Universal SCI FI Channel. The SCI FI Channel announced the news and it simultaneously was released in both the Hollywood Reporter and the Daily Variety. SCI FI stated that not only did it pickup a second season of POW!’s co-produced reality series but they have expanded it from six to ten one-hour episodes....

Sequels are challenging when there are changes in the original cast, but what Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again accomplishes is something indescribable. It’s not only an excellent sequel, but depending on which lens viewers watch from, it could even be deemed better than the original. Still, in a different turn of events, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again dives into the past, bringing to our screens other actors to reprise the roles of characters we already love and adore....

According to the logline for Taylor Sheridan’s next Paramount+ western installment, 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, starring David Oyelowo as the gunslinger will be an “epic limited series” about the “greatest frontier hero in American history.” Author and historian Art Burton told The Oklahoma’s Steve Lackmeyer that Bass Reeves was probably the greatest gunfighter in the Wild West. He added that the first Black deputy US Marshal’s kin said that when he was a little kid, he would carry water in the cotton fields of Texas and sing songs about knives, guns, and gunfighters....

Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ The Dark Knight Rises, the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar winner Christian Bale (The Fighter) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar winner Marion Cotillard (La Vie En Rose), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake....

Yesterday, we reported that The Dark Knight Rises will not be shooting amidst the Occupy Wall Street protest. Today, a new report indicates that the production will be shooting on Wall Street this weekend, as well as in midtown Manhattan. Here’s an excerpt from the report below. With the intention of launching a lucrative film franchise, Screen Gems announced in 2010, via Variety, that they would produce the movie version of Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, the first novel in the series. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones debuted in theaters in August 2013. Filming on the second movie, City of Ashes, which was supposed to begin in September 2013, was postponed until 2014. After the first movie was a failure, the series was finally canceled....

Elmo and his Sesame Street pals are stepping into late night television as seen in the amusing new trailer for the red muppet’s upcoming talk show. As Elmo’s bedtime is about 7:30 p.m., the show is appropriately called The Not Too Late Show with Elmo, and the program will debut on HBO Max when the streaming service launches on May 27. While he won’t be staying up as late as other talk show hosts, Elmo will have his show formatted basically the same, featuring a similar set with a desk and celebrity guest interviews....

The first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power just recently wrapped up with an explosive conclusion to the season that has fans excitedly looking forward to the second season. The Weinstein Co. has made an exclusive, seven-year pay TV output deal with Showtime. Also, the indie distributor apparently will make an advance “bonus” payment of as much as $100 million to the pay cable channel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As in other pay TV deals, Showtime would parcel out payments to the Weinsteins according to the performance of the various films at the domestic boxoffice – minus the prepayment, which is essentially a discount on the amount Showtime will owe the supplier....

Meet Bruno, the first autistic character in the Thomas & Friends franchise. Mattell has officially announced that Bruno will be joining the show as a series regular, making his debut on the season 26 premiere of Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go on Monday, Sept.12. Mattel TV developed Bruno in collaboration with respected organizations including the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) and Easterseals Southern California, as well as writers and spokespeople with autism including Daniel Share-Strom and Aaron Likens....

Tom Shadyac talks about staging a flood of biblical proportions! The new Steve Carell film Evan Almighty is rumored to be one of the most expensive comedies in the history of the medium. That doesn’t really seem to bother its director, Tom Shadyac, though. Shadyac is extremely proud of both the film, and the work his extraordinary cast put in. He feels that the money is evident on screen, and that the budget isn’t any different than what you’d see thrown at your average summer action flick....

Top Gun: Mavericks’ run at the box office is almost over, but not without the movie continuing its phenomenal success by landing in the Top 10 for a fourth full month. Having taken over $1.23 million worldwide, the sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 hit surpassed all expectations this summer to soar to the top of the chart as the year’s highest grossing movie, a title it is almost certain to retain even when facing competition from the likes of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Avatar: The Way of Water in a couple of months....

Activision has just confirmed on the official website for Spider-Man: Web of Shadows that Tricia Helfer will be providing the voice of Black Cat in the highly anticipated new video game.
