Spike TV has signed up a reality project from Transformers producer Tom DeSanto as part of an orientation toward what it calls factual entertainment, according to Variety. Essentially, programming that might be seen on the History or Discovery Channel is put “through a Spike filter,” according to nonscripted network executive Sharon Levy. DeSanto is teaming with 44 Blue to produce Declassified, which will showcase dangerous special ops missions from U.S. history....

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY North does have a cameo in the film, briefly encountering Holland’s Drake shortly after the big airplane sequence highlighted in the trailers. The familiar video game music even starts playing when North shows up, further tipping off gamers about the cameo. North was happy his part in the film was short and sweet as he didn’t want to take viewers out of the experience. He also went on to praise how much he enjoyed working with Holland....

Unsolved Mysteries is coming back courtesy of Netflix at the start of next month, and we now have an official trailer to give us an idea of what the series revival will be like. Set to debut on the streaming service on July 1, the new Unsolved Mysteries feels a bit like a modernized version of the classic series and the trailer seems to capture that same tone. The official trailer was just released on Tuesday, and you can watch the video below....

The 4400, the critically-acclaimed series that chronicles the reappearance of 4400 people previously reported missing or dead, returns for a third season on Sunday, June 11 as a two-hour special from 9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT on USA Network, and then will air as weekly one-hour episodes at 9:00pm ET/PT starting Sunday, June 18. The 4400 premiered as a limited series on July 11, 2004 on USA Network as the highest-rated and most-watched new series premiere ever on a basic cable network....

Warner Bros. has taken a different approach to the video game tie-in for their upcoming release Watchmen. According to Variety, the studio’s Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will release two downloadable games, with the first coinciding with the theatrical release next March and the second around the DVD launch. WBIE execs said that by producing shorter downloadable games, rather than a full-priced disc version, they’ll have more flexibility to produce high-quality titles on a tight production schedule of just more than a year....

Rian Johnson’s Knives Out is the definition of a modern classic. Even though it was only released a few short years ago, the film has already gained a reputation as one of the all-time greats in the genre of murder mysteries. It was a breakout hit at the box office in 2019, and work almost immediately began on a sequel. Following a bidding war between several major studios, Netflix ended up purchasing the rights for two more films in the series, which would continue to follow the central detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig....

The What We Do in the Shadows spinoff series Wellington Paranormal is getting a wide release. The CW and HBO Max have jointly acquired the rights to Wellington Paranormal, a spinoff of the 2014 vampire mockumentary that previously debuted on the New Zealand network TVNZ 2. As per the agreement, The CW will get first airings of Wellington Paranormal as a part of its summer schedule, while HBO Max will stream episodes a day after their broadcast debut....

Even though the MCU has been around for nearly a decade and a half now, they’re still finding new and innovative ways to break the repetitive mold that large movie universes tend to fit into. One such way was the MCU’s first attempt at a holiday special during the airing of the Hawkeye series on Disney+. Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank isn’t exactly a children’s movie. Though, of course, the action-packed animated feature has the capacity to delight younger audiences, there are plenty of moments in the film, which is purportedly a loose spiritual successor to Mel Brooks’ 1974 Western comedy classic Blazing Saddles, that are catered exclusively to adult audiences. However, regardless of age, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank has many essential lessons within its silly samurai storyline....

Although it is early days for The Last of Us, with only one episode having aired, the survival horror series has currently overtaken the all-time greatest TV show Breaking Bad on IMDb’s rating chart. The first episode of the Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey-led show logged a hugely impressive 95% rating among users of the movie database website. While there are still many ratings to come, and Breaking Bad obviously has a lot more aggregated numbers throughout its five seasons, it is worth noting that the Bryan Cranston series didn’t get off to a perfect start and built its rating up over time....

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade is in talks to helm The Last Voyage of Demeter for Phoenix Pictures. Stefan Ruzowitzky was previously attached to direct this project, which has been in development for several years, before he left to direct Blackbird last month. Bragi F. Schut wrote the screenplay, which follows the ship Demeter as it carries Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to London. Although the voyage isn’t touched upon much in Bram Stoker’s original novel, The Last Voyage of Demeter finally tells the tale of that journey where passengers and crew are mysteriously murdered one by one....

Last April, James Corden took viewers and fans by surprise when he announced that he would be leaving The Late Late Show and that his last show would take place in the Spring of 2023. When the announcement came, Corden had been hosting the show for eight years, which according to Corden, is far longer than he had initially hoped for. He told ET last May, “When I took the job – firstly, I didn’t think we’d be on the air, like, six months later....

The Matrix became a worldwide phenomenon and launched star Keanu Reeves further into the cultural stratosphere – but only its sequels have been shown in IMAX, with 2003’s The Matrix Reloaded being the first Warner Bros. All around the world, films are quoted every single day for humor, everyday life situations, and connection to others — and have been for decades. Movies are often enjoyed for their visuals, their casts’ performances, and their storylines, but those aren’t typically the things remembered in the long run. Sure, we may remember if a movie’s storyline was extremely strange or if it featured an intense, gun-slinging action scene, but as time goes on, those aren’t the key points you hear people discussing — it’s the quotes....
