Sylvester Stallone rocked the small screen earlier this week with his starring role in Tulsa King. The Paramount+ series follows his character, Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi, as he’s released from prison, moving from New York to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire. Stallone stars alongside Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A.C. Peterson, and Garrett Hedlund. Lionsgate today announced that it has acquired the rights to the next film by writer/director/actor/producer Tyler Perry, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family. The film will be the eleventh title in the studio’s hit Perry franchise. Perry will reprise his signature role as the straight-shooting Madea in the film, adapted from his new stage play “Madea’s Happy Family,” which is currently on tour in the U.S. The announcement was jointly made by Joe Drake, Lionsgate Chief Operating Office and Motion Picture Group President, and Mike Paseornek, Lionsgate President of Motion Picture Production....

Cartoon Network is transporting viewers to a joyous kingdom full of sparkle matter, happy thoughts and the occasional rage-out in Unikitty!, an all-new animated series produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The series follows Unikitty, the beloved character from The LEGO Movie, and a whole cast of friends into a world full of adventure, excitement and dance parties. Alison Brie voiced Princess Unikitty in The Lego Movie, but it doesn’t appear that she will return for this new series....

According to Variety, Walden Media and New Line have joined forces to co-finance Journey 3-D, a modern take on the Jules Verne classic “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” Eric Brevig, who won a Special Achievement Academy Award for his visual effects work on Total Recall, will make his feature directorial debut. D.V. DeVincentis (High Fidelity) has written the script. Visual effects vet Charlotte Huggins is producing, and production will begin in April....
