In 2008, the first movie in The Strangers series was released, and it became a great cult classic while also being a slasher film. Bryan Bertino made his directorial debut with The Strangers, pulling inspiration from real true crime cases and even his own life; making the movies more realistic and terrifying....

That all changes with The Walking Dead Season 4, as the survivors begin to raise livestock and trade their cars for a more logical form of transportation: Horses. We have a new photo from “30 Days Without an Accident”, debuting October 13 on AMC, which introduces Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) Horse Flame. The first trailer for A24’s The Whale offers our first real look at Brendan Fraser’s award-winning central performance. Who says that animated movies are solely for kids? Going back to the 1929 cartoon Eveready Harton in Buried Treasure and through the years of sex-symbol Betty Boop and gross-out Howard the Duck, animation has attempted to appeal to adults in different ways over the years, though without much mainstream success until the ’70s and ’80s. One of the first and undeniably filthiest animated films of all time was Fritz the Cat, a 1972 adult black comedy that became a pioneer for future animated works for adults....

Hannover House has released the first trailer for Toys in the Attic, an English language adaptation of director Jirí Barta’s stop motion animated adventure. The story takes place in a Prague attic with the toys divided into good and bad sides, which serves as an allegory to the Cold War. Take a look at the first footage, featuring the voices of Forest Whitaker, Joan Cusack, and Cary Elwes. Set in a magical world of toys and knick-knacks stored in the attic of a home in Prague, this award-winning stop-motion animated feature has been called “An animation masterpiece” (Anima Basuari), and “a diabolically inventive tale that is four parts Toy Story and one part Tim Burton (New York International Children’s Film Festival)....

Last week it was rumored that Fred Ward would be reuniting with Kevin Bacon in the long-awaited Tremors TV show. In a new interview with Tremors 6 star Michael Gross, the actor confirmed that Fred Ward will be back. Giving fans a true reunion and follow-up to the original movie. Sort of. Because, believe it or not, Gross himself wasn’t asked to return. While this new Tremors TV series is definitely on the way, unfortunately for fans of the franchise, Burt Gummer won’t be showing up in it....

AMC’s hit zombie series The Walking Dead continued with the second episode of Season 8 last night, which further explored the war between Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), The Saviors Rick (Andrew Lincoln) with an army comprised of Alexandria, The Kingdom and Hilltop Colony soldiers. We still have a long way to go before this season comes to an end, but before it does, Jeffrey Dean Morgan revealed that fans will get to know a lot more about Negan’s back story....

Television (WBTV) arrives in Anaheim for another exciting weekend at WonderCon 2013, starting with exclusive screenings of some of this season’s hottest series - including The Following (Mondays 9/8c FOX) - on the big screen on Friday, March 29. Following that, fans can power up their Saturday with a special video presentation and panel session for this season’s #1 new show, Revolution (Mondays 10/9c NBC, new episodes returning March 25), followed by Warner Bros....

It seems like Tales of the Black Freighter, the direct-to-DVD animated feature that will tie in to Watchmen is going to receive an ‘R’ rating. Rope of Silicon has kept an eye on the latest ratings and reports the news about the tie-in, as well as the somewhat surprising news that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is going to get a ‘PG’ rating - the first film in the franchise to get that rating since Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban....

Marvel’s Eternals features many new characters for the first time. In the mid-credits scene, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is introduced to Pip the Troll. But just who is Pip the Troll? And who provided the voice for the character. Let’s start with the latter question. The voice for Pip the Troll is comedian Patton Oswalt. This is not, of course, Oswalt’s first time appearing in a Marvel Studios project. In fact, this will be his third....

In the last ten years or so, there has been an underlying trend of numerous children’s horror franchises making the leap from book series to the big screen. With the first film starring the super charismatic Jack Black, the most notable examples are R.L Stine’s Goosebumps which was released in 2015, and Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, which was released in October 2018. In August of the following year, a theatrical version of Alvin Schwartz’s work, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, premiered in theaters and was a box office hit, grossing over one hundred million dollars....

The cast of The Old Guard 2 are back on set and ready to bring the characters of Greg Rucka’s comic book to life once again. Netflix’s Charlize Theron-led superhero movie was a hit in 2020, enough so that the crew are back together again for a sequel, and a new set photo has shown the gang back together before the action gets underway. Along with Theron, the cast includes KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Veronica Ngo, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and one of the only major changes to the production is Victoria Mahoney taking over directorial duties from Gina Prince-Bythewood....

The new series based on The Spiderwick Chronicles has finally locked in a director, with She-Hulk’s Kat Coiro taking over duties on the first two episodes of the Disney+ show as well as acting as executive producer for the series as a whole. This will be the second time the books by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi has been adapted for screen, the previous attempt being the 2008 movie starring Freddie Highmore in the dual role of twin brothers Jared and Simon Grace....
