The iconic film Forrest Gump was once in the planning stages for a sequel to happen, even the idea had fizzled out less than an hour later. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump was an instant success when it was released in theaters back in 1994. It was a big hitter at the Academy Awards, earning six Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director for Zemeckis, and Best Actor for Hanks....

Australian site What’s Playing has learned that actor/pro wrestler John Cena is being considered for the new TV series based on the 1994 True Lies movie. We reported back in September that ABC ordered a pilot, which was written by René Echevarria. According to an anonymous source, who works for an unnamed company that deals with Lightstorm Entertainment, the producers are now looking at John Cena to star in the pilot....

Disney+ is getting out of the business of having canines helping the police solve crimes. Premiering on Disney+ over the summer, the Turner & Hooch series served as a continuation of the original 1989 movie of the same name, sharing a similar story with a new lead in Josh Peck. It’s now been reported that Disney+ has chosen to end the show with no season 2 on the all, ending the new Turner & Hooch after one season and 12 episodes....

You can bring home the latest thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie-Anne Moss home on DVD and Blu-ray this June. Unthinkable will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on June 15, apparently skipping a theatrical release. The standard DVD will be priced at $24.96 SRP while the BD will cost $30.95 SRP. The Walking Dead has key reconciliations and a betrayal in The Other Side. The episode begins with a montage of activities at the Hilltop. Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Enid (Katelyn Nacon) are training the colonists to fight. Gregory (Xander Berkeley) looks on in disgust as Maggie usurps his authority. Maggie makes dinner, but Daryl (Norman Reedus) can’t look her in the eye. Sasha tends tearfully to Abraham’s grave....

The Walking Dead is still a big show, but it is getting less big. Once again, AMC’s hit zombie series, which is based on the long-running Image Comics series of the same name, has encountered a sharp decline in ratings. So just how bad is it? The Walking Dead has now hit a new four-year low, with ratings worse than they have been since the show’s third season. According to Forbes, last Sunday’s episode of Walking Dead brought in just 10....

Over the last few seasons, The Walking Dead has lost quite a few viewers and, unfortunately for AMC, that trend has continued. The network saw a massive ratings drop for the recent season 9 premiere, with the series down nearly half of its viewers when compared to the season 8 premiere last year. Not long after Alan Moore declared that he was “definitely” done with comics, citing the “unbearable” industry, the Watchmen creator revealed to GQ that he sent a letter to the showrunner of HBO’s Watchmen creator telling him in no uncertain terms to never contact him again. Moore, who also shared that he’s disowned the 2019 Emmy-winning adaptation, has long been open about his disdain for the comic book movie industry and any adaptations of his work....

Reservoir Dogs was the movie that introduced Quentin Tarantino to Hollywood and the world. It was his first film, and from the opening scene in the diner, it showed that Quentin Tarantino had a great ear for dialogue, and could talk about anything (and didn’t like to tip). This movie about a bank heist (that we never see) gone wrong, was the perfect building block for Tarantino’s career. In an interview on the ReelBlend podcast, Tarantino himself said that if he did a remake of Reservoir Dogs, it would be with an all-Black cast....

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the eighth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), recently wrapped up its fun first season. The sex-positive, feminist satire, headlined by Tatiana Maslany (who plays She-Hulk, aka Jennifer Walters), garnered praise for breaking the MCU fatigue in more ways than one. This Hulk doesn’t just smash regular things, but the fourth wall crumbles before her too. The fourth-wall-breaking superhero took things up a notch in the season finale of its first innings....

Following the success of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it’s time to talk about Tenoch Huerta. There were a number of great characters that came from this long-awaited sequel after the devastating passing of Chadwick Boseman, and Ryan Coogler delivered in such a way that made the film well worth the wait. Huerta plays Namor, the anti-hero of this sequel, and you might find yourself agreeing with some of his points throughout the movie....

Fans of The CW need not worry about the delay with the network’s 2020/2021 schedule, as they still fully intend to produce full seasons of each show. Given the current situation Hollywood is facing, many of the network’s shows, including the ArrowVerse offerings and Supernatural, had their current seasons cut short as production had to shut down. But CW President Mark Pedowitz assures they intend to bring full seasons our way next year....

The 2011 San Diego Comic-Con is just over one month away, and, while we still have to wait a few more weeks before the official schedule is released, several studios appear to be skipping out on the annual event this year. Studios such as Warner Bros., Disney, DreamWorks, and The Weinstein Company will not be showcasing any of their upcoming movies at this year’s Comic-Con. And that means two of the biggest comic book movies currently in production, Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises, will be absentee when it comes to their presence at this mammoth fan-fueled event....
