While the writers remain on strike, it appears the directors have avoided a similar situation. The Directors Guild of America (DGA) announced on their website that a tentative agreement has been met for their collective bargaining agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). A major aspect of the deal is the landmark precedent set over new media and a heavy rate increase for electronic sell-through. The new media jurisdiction states that all programming produced for the Internet must be filmed by DGA members, unless the budget falls below a certain limit....

You can bring one of director Rob Zombie’s new animated projects home on DVD and Blu-ray this September. The Haunted World of El Superbeasto will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 22. A major name in pro wrestling history will be featured in The Iron Claw, A24’s upcoming feature film based on the story of the Von Erich family. The cast will be led by Zac Efron as Kevin Von Erich, the only one of five wrestling siblings who didn’t die tragically at a young age. Now, Deadline reports that the master of the figure four leglock, Ric Flair, will also appear in the film as played by The Deuce star Aaron Dean Eisenberg....

Lionsgate has issued an October 5, 2012 release date for the 3D horror adventure The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, which is currently in production. As of now, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D will be competing with a much different kind of horror project: Tim Burton’s stop-motion project Frankenweenie, which also is slated for an October 5, 2012 release. The only other movie scheduled for release in October 2012 is Halloween 3D, which will arrive on October 26, 2012....

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 will be the beginning of the end for this vampire franchise, hitting theaters on November 18, with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, arriving on November 16, 2012. Production is still underway on the two-part finale, but a series of photos from the movie have been leaked online. Fox’s hit reality music competition show The X Factor will have a more youthful presence in Season 2, with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato signing on as judges/mentors. Her perception of Jadis as the ultimate white supremacist was very interesting. She turns her into a Nazi-like character hell bent on domination. Tilda really wanted to turn the traditional idea of the evil witch on its head. In retrospect, I can totally see the supremacist traits in her performance....

Fan art has a way of bringing together ideas that no one saw coming, and a new poster based on Tom Hanks’ new movie, A Man Called Otto, delivers such a punch. Combining the Hanks film with Spider-Man villain Doc Ock, artist @rahalarts shared a crossover that is nothing short of genius. The new poster is for A Man Called Otto Octavius, which envisions Hanks’ grumpy character with Spider-Man 2’s antagonist....

Marvel Studios has officially announce the Scarlet Witch and Vision series. It is titled WandaVision, yes it’s the real title, and it will bring back Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany to reprise their iconic roles. The news comes just a little while after it was announced that the Falcon & Winter Soldier series is officially happening too. Plus there is now news of a Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner as his Clint Barton character passes the torch to a young Kate Bishop....

A new report may have unveiled the title for the upcoming remake of 2016’s stellar South Korean action horror flick, Train to Busan, with the American version potentially being named Last Train to New York. The remake will be helmed by Timo Tjahjanto, with the recent report from Deadline saying, “Tjahjanto is currently attached to direct the New Line remake of Korean hit Train to Busan, which we hear could be titled Last Train to New York....

Paramount Pictures announced today that director Michael Bay has signed a two-picture deal with the studio, which will commence this spring with the filming of Pain and Gain, and will be followed by the next installment in the hit Transformers franchise. Based on a true story, Pain and Gain follows a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida. First told in an article from the Miami New Times, Pain and Gain, will be directed by Bay and will star Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson....
