Needle drops don’t just set the mood for a particular scene, they can make it feel real — blurring the line between the characters’ emotions and our own. Just days after hackers leaked the Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 4 script, the full episode has now arrived early online, although it is not believed to be connected to the hack. The leak came from Star India, one of HBO’s international broadcast partners, which receives episodes in advance of airtime, and there was a Star India watermark prominently featured on the leaked episode. Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson might have found their Tintin, the young Belgian reporter who is the hero of Georges Remi’s comic books, which Spielberg and Jackson are adapting into a performance-capture-based film trilogy. London’s Daily Mail reported that the lucky lad is 17-year-old British actor Thomas Sangster, who has appeared in Love Actually and Nanny McPhee and has a role in Jane Campion’s “Bright Star,” which is about to begin filming....

It’s the morning after Women Talking had its premiere screening at Toronto International Film Festival 2022 when cinematographer Luc Montpellier and I meet for our Zoom interview. To say the film, from writer and director Sarah Polley, resonated with the audience would be an understatement.
