Get ready to smoke it up in the burbs on DVD and Blu-Ray this June. Weeds Season 3 is coming to DVD on June 3. Special features details weren’t disclosed, but the set will include all 15 episodes of this season, and will be priced, in both formats, at $39.95 SRP. The series stars Mary-Louise Parker, Elizabeth Perkins, and Kevin Nealon. America’s favorite pot-dealing soccer mom is more addictive than ever in the third season of Weeds, the highly acclaimed Showtime Original Series....

She-Hulk’s marketing for season one has been brilliant. Viral marketing for movies and augmented reality are coming more into fashion and working better since Marvel’s famous tiny marketing campaign with the first Ant-Man movie. Now She-Hulk has proved itself not just by hitting its target audience but by extending that range and inspiring viral gags just from the content of its show. She-Hulk also took a hint from the Ant-Man campaign and used its traditional marketing (billboards, posters) to bring that viral content out into the real world....

The CW has just secured at least two new main villains for DC’s Stargirl to face in Season 2. According to new reports, Nick Tarabay (The Expanse) has signed on for a series regular role as Eclipso and will be featured prominently in the next season. Jonathan Cake (The Affair) has also been attached to play The Shade, another villain from DC Comics, in a recurring role. Meanwhile, Ysa Penarejo (Project Mc2) is also set for a recurring role as an undisclosed DC character, but there’s no word yet on who she’ll play....

Everyone has their own unique way of celebrating the holiday season, and that includes the Marvel Netflix heroes who will make up The Defenders next year. Instead of “deck the halls,“Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter and Luke Cage) (Mike Colter) will “wreck the halls,” in a catchy new holiday video. Don’t expect them to be spreading much holiday cheer to their enemies this Christmas, but you may certainly cheer them on as they battle a number of enemies....

Hollywood likes to think that they have the patent on making exciting action thrillers, which is why its so nice to see a film from Sweden that breaks the mold and gives us something different than we’ve seen from the genre in along time. I’m sure it won’t be long till we see an American version of this film and actually … one is already on the way. It was announced recently that Sony was planning an adaptation written by Oscar winning screenwriter Steve Zaillian (“Schindler’s List”)....

According to Blocks and Files, the Godfather DVD Collection trilogy has just recently been restored and plans to re-release the trilogy on DVD and possibly Blu-Ray are under way with a release date set for sometime in September. Lionsgate will launch “The Ultimate Hunger Games Fan Sweeps” on Facebook tomorrow, Friday, June 24th. One lucky winner will receive a trip to the set of the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games, which is currently shooting and scheduled for release March 23, 2012. Marvel and Netflix have decided to pull their presentation for The Punisher from New York Comic Con this weekend. The panel was set for Saturday, but in the wake of the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas, which left 58 people dead and nearly 500 more injured, the studios have jointly decided it is best not to have The Punisher, a show which is not going to be shy about gun violence, featured at the convention this weekend....

The Wolverine director James Mangold has joined the remake of Jean-Pierre Melville’s crime drama The Red Circle (Le cercle rouge). The classic starred Alain Delon as an ex-con who gets pulled back into the world of crime by teaming up with a hitman for another heist. Producer Arthur M. Sarkissian recently interviewed and spoke about how he feels about the director. The producer also spoke about the original script compared to the new one....

The Simpsons Movie managed to jump into the number two spot in the States, but elsewhere on the planet, the reigning yellow family crashed the top spot on this weekend’s overseas box office charts. The film, in its second week of release, grabbed a handy sum of $47.3 million overseas. That brings its worldwide total to $315.5 million dollars in just twelve short days. Four other films helped to make this weekend’s international take a supreme one ....

A year after his passing, Bob Saget is getting a comedy award named in his honor. Per THR, the Taste Awards has officially changed the name of their best comedy category to the Bob Saget Award for Best Comedy and Humor. Saget, who died at the age of 65 in January 2022, had always been very supportive for everyone in comedy in addition to long serving as a fan favorite in the field, making the new name for the award appropriate....

There is nothing quite like a good mystery to make the winter feel a bit cozier. That’s why the new Freeform show The Watchful Eye is the perfect thing to satiate your appetite. First George Romero’s Diary of the Dead now it’s Mother of Tears for The Weinstein Company. In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Myriad Pictures will be distributing famed Italian, horror maestro Dario Argento’s Mother of Tears in theaters, but the Weinstein company will be handling the home video end. Marvel Studios has announced when Thor: Love and Thunder is coming home. Fans can pick up the film to own first when it hits digital outlets on Sept. 8, 2022. This will be followed by the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions releasing on Sept. 27. The home entertainment release will include all-new bonus features, such as cut scenes, a gag reel, and an audio commentary with director Taika Waititi....

While Tom Holland’s future as the MCU’s live-action Spider-Man is pretty much certain, it has been reported that he won’t be providing the voice of Peter Parker in the new animated Disney+ series Spider-Man: Freshman Year. When Marvel Studios released their What If…? series, certain characters were played by voice actors other than those who have played them in the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it seems like the same will happen in the new Spider-Man series....

Universal will be getting it’s groove on in September when they release U2: Zoo TV - Live from Sidney. In a story from U2.com, the two disc DVD will offer a live show, extra live tracks, documentaries and “Video Confessionals.” The release date is currently TBA. Synopsis: Filmed at the Football Stadium in Sydney, Australia, in November 1993 - and now only available on something called VHS - U2: Zoo TV - Live from Sidney is directed by David Mallet and produced by Ned O’Hanlon and Rocky Oldham....

UPDATE: (8/24/10 9:45 AM PST)The Guardian is now reporting that Angelina Jolie will write the film and make her directorial debut on the untitled project. It was also stated that she will not appear as an actress in the film. The project will be budgeted at $15 million and it wasn’t said if a studio is involved at this point or not. We’ll continue to keep you posted with the status of Angelina Jolie directorial debut as soon as more information comes in....
