AMC’s The Walking Dead took six episodes into season eight, but we finally get a Michonne (Danai Gurira) sighting. The King, The Widow, and Rick picks up with action at the various communities. King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) has locked himself away after losing his people. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) has to deal with Jesus (Tom Payne) and his throng of Savior prisoners. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) embarks on a seemingly foolish quest to get the junkyard people back on his side....

According to Variety, Warner Bros. Pictures has relocated romance “The Lake House,” starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, from Super Bowl weekend to a competitive summer slot dominated by two testosterone-laden pics. Bowing on June 16 are Universal’s “The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift” and 20th Century Fox’s Viking adventure Pathfinder. “The Lake House” was originally set to bow Feb. 3, but the studio needed to find a new release date because of additional post-production work....

More cool stuff has been posted to the Watchmenproduction blog - this time a post from artist Dave Gibbons as he visited the set of the film. Gibbons described the visit as “It’s perhaps the most surreal experience of my life.” Gibbons is known to comic book fans as the award winning writer and illustrator who co-created The Watchmen comic book with Alan Moore. Some of the symbolic elements which Zack Snyder is working in to the film were created by Moore, while others were created by Gibbons....

In a recent interview with SciFi Wire, David Janollari, president of entertainment at The WB network, reported that the network is eager to air a movie based on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer character, ‘Spike’ (James Marsters), if only creator Joss Whedon were available. Joss Whedon has been tapped to write and direct a Wonder Woman movie and is also developing a supernatural movie, “Goners”. He last helmed the sci-fi flick Serenity....

The 2007 film Grindhouse is a bit of an anomaly in the filmography of both Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. A vicious double-feature made as a homage to the era of exploitative filmmaking that rose to prominence in the ’70s, Grindhouse was the original vessel for the films Planet Terror and Death Proof to be viewed in. Between the two, a handful of trailers for fictional films would play out, each one being so over-the-top, they’d probably never see the light of day as an actual movie — minus the ones that did....

When the Screaming Starts is a new horror comedy whose trailer has been revealed by Bloody Disgusting. The film’s premise is that Norman (Jared Rogers), a struggling journalist turned filmmaker, finds himself face to face with aspiring serial killer Aidan Mendle (Ed Hartland. Invited to follow Aiden on his journey, Norman starts documenting his exploits and whether or not he’ll ever actually kill anyone. Directed by Conor Boru, the film was co-written by him and lead actor Hartland....

Of all the MCU shows, Marvel’s Loki is the strongest. The series took 2012 Loki from The Avengers during Avengers: Endgame’s time travel heist and removed him from his time period. At this point, Loki has yet to go through his redemption arc, and is still very much in his criminal mindset. However, Loki does not allow the character to remain an antagonist throughout the entire series. Instead, Loki must go through a different version of the redemption arc when he meets those in charge of ensuring the Sacred Timeline....

Part of the festivities was a costume contest, which saw numerous die-hard fans dressed up as their favorite characters such as Gandalf, Saruman, and many others. They were all vying for several LOTR-related prizes, including the whopper of a grand prize: a one-week trip to New Zealand to visit several trilogy-related locales, including the WETA special effects house. Two of WETA’s own, Richard Taylor and Daniel Falconer, even took time out of their busy schedules working on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, to judge the finalists via Skype....

The Marvels was officially announced as a sequel to Captain Marvel soon after the movie’s release in 2019. Although plans for the film began so long ago, it was produced to be a crossover with projects that haven’t even premiered yet. The movie will see the revival of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and will include Disney’s newest addition to the MCU: Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). There’s certainly a lot to look forward to....

Season 4 of THE O.C. is coming and it’s going to be hotter than ever! The fourth season of THE O.C. will premiere Thursday, Nov. 2 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. This season hits the ground running with THE O.C.’s trademark mix of heart, humor, drama, action and romance. Josh Schwartz, creator and executive producer of THE O.C., says of the new season: “I’m very proud of these episodes and I think they convey real emotion and drama but also, more importantly, humor and heart....

The Sandlot TV series has landed a home at Disney+. Original director and co-writer David Mickey Evans previously teased the show last month, noting several of the cast members from the movie will be reprising their roles and it takes place in 1984, 22 years after the movie. The show will reportedly focus on their children, though no further information is available. At the time of the initial reveal, Evans could not say which streaming service he was going to be working with, noting, “It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out right now....

The 23rd annual TCA Awards were held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. Peacock’s The Traitors has officially been renewed. Per Variety, it’s been announced that the reality show will be coming back for another season on the streaming platform. The news comes weeks after the first season premiered in January to high viewership, with Peacock declaring The Traitors as its No. 1 original reality series. Corie Henson, NBCUniversal’s EVP of entertainment unscripted content, addressed the renewal in a statement. “The Traitors is an ambitious, highly addictive and spontaneous format that keeps contestants and viewers on their toes,”Henson says....

Love it or hate it, you’re probably familiar with The Twilight Saga. The saga consists of five movies released from 2008 to 2012, based on the book series by Stephenie Meyer. Things begin with Twilight, where Bella (Kristen Stewart) moves to Forks, Washington. There, she meets and falls in love with the mysterious Edward (Robert Pattinson), who is a vampire. This puts her at odds with werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner), and though Bella ultimately ends up with Edward, their love triangle is a major plot point throughout the saga....

With all of its Disney content about to be decimated, and their original Marvel shows all canceled, Netflix has been hungry to bring original superhero content to their streaming platform to make up for the gigantic hole that suddenly needs to be filled. And they are succeeding quite nicely with the comic book adaptation The Umbrella Academy, which launched earlier this year. It has proven to be a big hit, and now Netflix is ordering more....

The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today that Tom Quinn and Jason Janego have joined forces with TWC Co-Chairmen Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein to create a new TWC label to bring new films and other specialty entertainment to audiences simultaneously across multiple digital and traditional platforms. Quinn and Janego will serve as Co-Presidents of the yet-to-be named label, which will be based in New York. The announcement was made by TWC COO David Glasser....

As Blu-ray and HD-DVD continue to wage war another format looks to be entering the fray. According to Yahoo! News, New Medium Enterprises, Inc. announced on Monday that James Cardwell, the former President of Warner Home Video, is to join the NME board as a media and content advisor. NME are launching their High Definition Versatile Multilayer Disc (HD VMD) platform this Autumn and James will work with the NME Board and Senior Management Team to establish and develop relationships in the global home entertainment market....
