Pilot season is currently under way, where the networks order pilot episodes of shows that could be next season’s breakout hits. Yesterday, Fox issued a pilot order for a new untitled X-Men series that will be set within 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movie universe. A high-profile project like this sets the bar rather high for everything that comes after it, but NBC has ordered a high-profile pilot of their own, that may prove to be quite controversial....

You can take home some matrimonial fun from Sin City in both formats this August. What Happens in Vegas will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 26. The film will be available in a bare-bones single-disc standard theatrical format ($29.98 SRP) a two-disc “Extended Jackpot Edition” standard set ($34.98 SRP) and the Blu-Ray “Extended Jackpot Edition” ($39.98 SRP). The film stars Cameron Diaz, Ashton Kutcher and Dennis Miller....

In January 2014, a new kind of mockumentary-style movie hit the screen at the Sundance Film Festival. The 85-minute comedy examines the lives of four ancient vampire flatmates and is smartly entitled What We Do in the Shadows. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, creator Jemaine Clement explains that the characters came to be when he and co-creator, Taika Waititi, did vampire stand-up. From there, the idea grew into a 30-minute, low-budget short film in which three nonchalant vampires are interviewed about their lives and then, eventually, it progressed into a full-length film....

In its first series pick-up announcement since the May Upfront, The CW Network will welcome performing and recording artists The Pussycat Dolls in a new eight-episode reality series chronicling the group’s search for a new member, tentatively titled The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll. The announcement was made today by Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. “At its core, this show goes beyond just finding a new Pussycat Doll; it’s about female empowerment, self-discovery and personal transformation,” said Ostroff....

Agatha was introduced to fans in the wildly successful WandaVision. While initially many viewers had no idea who she could be, the intrigue kept them invested. Agatha was like a cello to Wanda’s violin, winning over current fans of the cinematic universe and drawing in new. One of the most significant climatic points in the series involves a showdown between Wanda and Agatha in an episode titled “Previously On.” Wanda ceremoniously engages in an epic magic duel with Agatha in this episode and fans learn that Wanda Maximoff is indeed the Scarlett Witch....

For fans of Jody Hill, the success of The Righteous Gemstones on HBO is no surprise. The Righteous Gemstones is the third series Hill co-created for the network, the first being Eastbound & Down, followed by Vice Principals. While his collaborations with Danny McBride have resulted in his most well-known work (not counting the duo’s 2006 no-budget martial arts comedy, The Foot Fist Way), Hill also directed and wrote a film that was released the same year his first HBO series premiered....

Marvel Studios’ recent stint with television productions has impressed the fans and critics alike for its unprecedented production scale, detail-focused storytelling, and new faces shaping the future of the ever-expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe. And the latest show, Ms. Marvel has probably perfected Marvel Studios’ technical and creative departments in their respective jobs. Ms. Marvel debuted five weeks ago on Disney+, introducing a culturally diverse and brand new central character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe....

The Dark Knight Rises, one of the most highly-anticipated releases of 2012, is currently in post-production, working towards a July 20 premiere date. The Good A funny show that took the office sitcom to new heights. The Bad No commentary tracks from Drew Carey? Come on, Warner Bros.! Come on, Drew! Set in Cleveland, The Drew Carey Show follows Drew and his television friends Oswald, Lewis and Kate as they live their lives the best they know how. Drew is a middle manager at a department store and in the first episode of this four disc set he meets Mimi who only seems to compound his problems....

The Good This set is a must for any fan’s horror collection. The Bad Sparse extras on some of the lesser known titles. I can think of few releases that need to be in your DVD collection as much as The Exorcist: The Complete Anthology. If you already own these films separately there is a good chance that you don’t need to by this, but if you don’t… look no further because in one shot you get everything you could ever want for this franchise....

Shia Labeouf is no stranger to fame, success, and the ills that come with it. An actor, performer and recently turned writer, LeBeouf is the true embodiment of filmmaking genius. Unlike the majority of professionals working in the industry, Shia was exposed to the world of films from a young age and has only gotten better with time. You can bring a new horror reboot home in both DVD and Blu-ray this August. The Last House on the Left will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 18. The standard DVD will include both the theatrical version and unrated version and will be priced at $29.98 SRP and the Blu-ray, which includes a Digital Copy, will be priced at $39.98 SRP. Cover art for each title wasn’t released as of yet, but we’ll update this story as soon as we have the images....

In the early ’90s, Jim Carrey skyrocketed to superstardom. In 1994 alone he had three films still synonymous with the actor. Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and The Mask were all released within a few months. While the first two are still known as comedic royalty, The Mask is one that hasn’t retained as culturally significant a status as the others. The film was a smash hit and is still beloved by fans of Carrey, but it isn’t as well-known by newer generations....

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a 2012 movie directed by Stephen Chbosky, adapted from his 1999 novel. The movie follows Charlie (Logan Lerman) as he starts high school after his best friend committed suicide. On his own, he eventually becomes friends with Sam (Emma Watson) and her stepbrother, Patrick (Ezra Miller), who welcome him into their circle, bringing him to parties and taking him on music-filled drives. While coping with weighty issues like mental health and childhood sexual abuse, Charlie begins to grow up and embrace the world around him....

On its surface, Nathan Fielder’s most recent television project is incredibly simple. The Rehearsal helps ordinary individuals prepare for difficult situations. Just in time for Halloween, it’s the long awaited return of The Thing! Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. directs this thriller, which recounts the horrific events leading up to the 1982 classic horror film John Carpenter’s The Thing. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as a paleontologist that travels to Antarctica for an expedition, but when she meets up with her Norwegian teammates, she discovers that there is a shape-shifting parasite hiding among them intent on killing every human in sight....

Following in the footsteps of previous “View-ettes” Debbie Matenopoulos and Meredith Vieira, former co-host Lisa Ling is returning to The View for her first-ever guest appearance, live Thursday, March 27 (11:00 AM-12:00 PM) on the ABC Television Network. After a nationwide search, Ms. Ling was announced as the replacement to Debbie Matenopoulos, live, May 3, 1999. Ms. Ling vacated her chair at The View on December 5, 2002 to join National Geographic Television and Film....

After the “Here’s Negan” episode closed out the 10th season of The Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan just might be getting his own spinoff as the bat-wielding character. Last year, AMC announced that the upcoming 11th season of The Walking Dead will also be serving as the show’s final season. Still, that won’t be the end of the franchise, as multiple spinoff shows are already in the works. Following the premiere of “Here’s Negan,” AMC put out a questionnaire quizzing viewers on their interest in a potential Negan-led spinoff....
