Season two of The Righteous Gemstones didn’t disappoint. HBO’s second installment of Danny McBride’s hit show saw Eli Gemstone (John Goodman) reuniting with his Memphis wrestling buddy, Junior (Eric Roberts). Eli had to confront his violent past in Memphis where he worked as an enforcer for Junior’s father, Glendon Marsh Sr. (Wayne Duvall), wrestling in the evening and collecting for the Dixie Mafia by night. Jesse (Danny McBride) and Amber (Cassidy Freeman) sought to gain more power in the Gemstone family, leading to their involvement with Christian power couple Lyle (Eric Andre) and Lindy Lissons (Jessica Lowe) and their idea for a Christian resort in Florida....

Things are going to get explosive on May 15! On May 8th Warner Home Video will release The Road Warrior and Battle of the Bulge both making their simultaneous debut on HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc. Just in time for Father’s Day, both titles feature new director commentary exclusive to high definition. All bonus materials on the Standard Definition version will be included on the high definition versions and will be available for $28....

Movie and TV adaptations of popular books always bring a number of comparisons from fans, both good and bad. Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is no exception, and while many initial criticisms centered around casting, be it related to gender, race or orientation, there have been others who have questioned some changes made to the original graphic novels. However, just as some changes were made to Netflix’s spectacular adaptation of Gaiman’s work, there are other scenes that are taken directly from the source material as shown in a new comparison video....

The Walking Dead is ending with its eleventh season this year, but the franchise is far from finished. AMC has just announced a fifth spinoff series dubbed Isle of the Dead, along with news that the new show will arrive on AMC and AMC+ in 2023. What’s known about this new spinoff is that it will focus on Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and its freshman season will consist of six episodes, presumably with the option of moving forward with more if the show is well-received....

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the highly anticipated action-drama The Woman King finally came to screen on September 16, 2022. Written by Dana Stevens and based on a narrative from Maria Bello, the film follows a group of Agojie warriors, an all-woman soldier group from the West African Kingdom of Dahomey. The Kingdom was recognized as one of the most powerful African states in the 18th and 19th centuries. With Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis, together with Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, and Sheila Atim, among many others, making up the cast, the movie looked like it was destined for success....

The Good A well done movie with a solid amount of supplemental features. The Bad Navigating through the supplemental features is a bit arduous and redundant. The Yards is one of those movies that may take some people by surprise, simply because movies of this kind really are not made anymore. We hear that all the time but in the case of this movie that truly applies. First of all, we have story in which there is no beacon....

It’s been just over a month since Marvel Studios gave us a first look at the return of Thor in the teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, and now, we have a brand new, better idea of what to expect from Chris Hemsworth’s fourth solo outing as the God of Thunder. With the movie due out at the beginning of July, it has been one of the closest-to-release trailers ever to be put out by Marvel, meaning that there has been a lot of attention on this first look at the main players of the next Marvel blockbuster....

Following the rumor that Star Wars and Indiana Jones actor Harrison Ford is being courted for a role in the MCU as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the upcoming Thunderbolts, Digital Artist Rahal Nejraoui has put together an image of what such a casting might look like. Taking to Instagram, the artist gives Ford the glorious mustache needed for the role of the General, as well as putting him in the military uniform adorned with medals that make Thunderbolt Ross so recognizable....

There is no doubt that for the vast majority of Marvel fans, the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home was the highlight of the MCU’s Phase 4. While no official talks have taken place yet, Warner Bros. is eyeing Tom Cruise to star in their musical project A Star Is Born for director Clint Eastwood. Tom Cruise will next be seen in Warner Bros.’ most recent musical, Rock of Ages, opening in theaters June 15. We reported back in August that production has been delayed on A Star Is Born, due to star Beyoncé Knowles’ pregnancy. This could work to Tom Cruise’s favor though, since he begins production on Horizons next week, and then moves to We Mortals Are directly after that....

Tom Cruise turned up at the ongoing CineEurope exhibition conference in Barcelona to conclude Paramount Pictures’ presentation, taking the attendees by surprise for the second time in eight months. Cruise was met with a standing ovation and deafening applause as he thanked the exhibitors for their support. Top Gun: Maverick has breathed new life into theaters, which have been struggling for the past two years. A legacy sequel to Tony Scott’s 1986 classic Top Gun and 36 years in the making, Top Gun: Maverick was released this Memorial Day weekend to critical acclaim and has grossed over $900 million worldwide....

It has been more than twenty years since French Director Bertrand Tavernier released his last English-speaking motion picture Round Midnight. After making more than a dozen films in his native country, Variety reports that Bertrand will return to the states with an adaptation of James Lee Burke’s cult novel “In the Electric Mist With the Confederate Dead.” Tommy Lee Jones will star in the film as Detective Dave Robicheaux, an ex-alcoholic Vietnam Vet on the trail of a serial killer....

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has revealed a groundbreaking new technology that will allow single discs to contain both the standard DVD and Blu-ray formats. All you have to do is flip the disc over. While many fans are still unhappy about the unexpected and unceremonious cancelation of Batgirl, Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels has been the latest to add their opinion to the reactions and attention on the film’s demise. According to the studio boss, the decision to scrap Batgirl received too much information from “external” sources and the whole thing was “blown out of proportion.” Batgirl was set to star Leslie Grace in the title role, with Brendan Fraser appearing as the villain Firefly, J....

Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story is nominated for seven Academy Awards. Yet the star of the film did not get a seat at this year’s ceremony. However, after being snubbed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at first, the 20-year-old sensation Rachel Zegler, who plays Maria in the Academy Award best picture nominee West Side Story, has been invited to present at the 94th Oscars ceremony on Sunday, March 27, 2022, according to The Hollywood Reporter....

It’s exciting to time to be a fan of HBO’s Westworld after yesterday’s debut of the trailer for Season 2 during the Super Bowl, as well as the announcement that the show returns on April 22nd.
