The Departed actress, Vera Farmiga, will star opposite George Clooney in Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air for Paramount Pictures and Montecito. The story centers on a human resources exec whose only joy in life comes from the prospect of notching his millionth frequent-flyer mile, a goal he pursues with zeal as the rest of his life falls apart because he is constantly on the road. According to Variety, Farmiga will play a businesswoman who develops a romantic relationship with Clooney’s character through meetings in airports and hotels around the country....

With so many avenues out there to tell stories on television and in movies, it can sometimes be lost on some that video games have a rich and acclaimed history at telling stories themselves. So often the conversation is on which classic video game Hollywood will be adapting next. Whether that be more recent releases such as Uncharted or yet another try at Resident Evil, or “classics” like Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider or the infamous Super Mario Brothers from the ’90s....

The Walking Dead has cast Carl’s Whisperers girlfriend, Lydia in the upcoming Season 9 of the AMC series. Actress Cassady McClincy will play the character in a recurring role. Lydia is the daughter of Whisperers leader Alpha and love interest to Carl Grimes in Robert Kirkman’s comic books, which some fans see as a bizarre, though welcome addition to the cast. Carl, played by Chandler Riggs, is no longer alive, leading to questions about how the show will move forward, since he was originally thought to carry the torch like he does in the comics....

There are few film directors who have a reputation as stellar as Alfred Hitchcock. Many regard him as perhaps the greatest director who ever lived. Indeed, In 2012, Sight and Sound’s film professionals poll ranked his 1958 movie Vertigo as the best movie ever made, beating out Citizen Kane, which had topped the poll for 50 years. HBO Europe is launching an eight-part spy drama set in Hungary on April 1, 2022, and just dropped its first trailer. The show, titled The Informant, is produced by Anna Závorszky for HBO Europe and Viktória Petrányi for Proton Cinema. The series, which was created, written, and co-directed by Bálint Szentgyörgyi, had its premiere at the Geneva International Film Festival. The Informant has nothing to do with the gloomy, stereotypical European show you would expect....

During The CW’s presentation at the TCA summer tour, the network unveiled the dates for its annual Arrowverse crossover, but this year will be much more condensed. Last year, the crossover spanned all four nights of the network’s superhero lineup, starting with Supergirl on Monday, The Flash on Tuesday, Arrow on Wednesday and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursday, but this year the crossover has been shrunk to a two-night affair with a two-hour block each night....

Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot are working on a draft of The Lone Ranger movie for uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer, according to a report on /Film. Disney, Bruckheimer’s studio of choice, won’t confirm the writing assignment at this time, but Entertainment Weekly says the writing team who last worked with Bruckheimer on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl are “trying to create a new juggernaut for Bruckheimer to exploit....

The Matrix Resurrections will be “throwing down the Matrix gauntlet again,” according to returning star Keanu Reeves who, along with Carrie-Anne Moss, has provided further insight into the upcoming, and largely unexpected, sci-fi action sequel. Both Reeves and Moss, who return to their respective roles as freedom fighters Neo and Trinity in the fourth outing of The Matrix franchise, believe that the movie will achieve something surprising while simultaneously reminding audiences of the previous trilogy....

A plot twist is one of the biggest factors that makes any movie stick in the audience’s mind. At times, it is simply a small new detail towards the end of the movie that makes viewers completely reassess everything they have seen up to this point. Whether it is the revelation of the murderer or the possibility that the protagonist is not a reliable narrator. Sometimes the plot twist even happens at the midway point and drastically changes how the movie unfolds, such as the unexpected murder of the main character or perhaps an abrupt change in genre....

The Good An uplifting movie that shows why you should never give up no matter how dark things seem. The Bad Will Smith seems very disingenuous in the featurettes. In The Pursuit of Happyness Will Smith plays Chris Gardner, a father trying to keep his family together in San Francisco. Trying to sell medical supplies isn’t paying the bills and his girlfriend Linda (Thandie Newton) is getting tired of having to work so much....

The Simpsons: The Movie is coming to DVD on December 18th, 2007. Aptly timed for late Christmas shoppers and fans alike, this should be one hot seller. I know I’ll proudly add it to my collection when it hits store shelves this week. The animated flick comes hot the heels of its very successful theatrical run, taking in $183.1 million at the domestic box office and $525.1 million worldwide. Its domestic haul has put the film in the top 10 of the year, and it is the highest-grossing animated TV adaptation of all time....

Directors Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly are one step closer to filling their cast for The Three Stooges, with Sean Hayes joining the comedy as Larry. We reported last month that Will Sasso will play Curly. The directors are still searching for that last piece of the casting puzzle: The actor who will play Moe. It is said that Sean Hayes won the Farrellys over with his ability to play, “a lovable simpleton,” in Larry, who provides a middle ground between Moe’s angry energy and Curly’s madcap antics....

Directors Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly still don’t have a cast in place for their comedy The Three Stooges, although they recently revealed in an interview that they plan to shoot the project this spring, and they are currently in pre-production. Here’s what Bobby Farrelly had to say. Peter Farrelly also revealed that The Three Stooges isn’t a biopic, but their take on the classic characters. “That’s a work in progress....
