A new ad campaign has been launched for Apple TV+ featuring Timothée Chalamet. Bokeem Woodbine is in talks to join Colin Farrell in the reboot Total Recall for Sony Pictures. If he signs on, Bokeem Woodbine will play the best friend to Colin Farrell’s Quaid, who has developed a big-brother sort of relationship with him. We reported in March that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston was “locking down” the villain role in Total Recall, but it still isn’t clear if that deal was finalized....

Some birds just can’t catch a break. On November 2nd, Lisa Hanawalt announced on Twitter that her beloved adult animated comedy, Tuca & Bertie, had been canceled on Adult Swim. This marks the second cancellation that the show has faced. Tuca & Bertie follows the misadventures of the two titular best friends as they make their way in and out of the unexpected mishaps that is adult life. The show stars Tiffany Haddish as Tuca, Ali Wong as Bertie, and Steven Yeun as Bertie’s boyfriend, Speckle....

Urban Cowboy is getting rebooted for the small screen. Deadline reports that Paramount+ has put in a series order for a new take on the 1980 romantic Western, which starred John Travolta and Debra Winger. The new series comes from The Circle writer/director James Ponsoldt and Benjamin Percy, the filmmaking duo behind the 2022 Sundance movie Summering. Ponsoldt will direct and co-write the Urban Cowboy series with Percy with Paramount TV producing....

After a stellar series launch, A&E Network has picked up 18 more episodes of the hit reality series Wahlburgers, featuring Mark Wahlberg, Donnie Wahlberg and Paul Wahlberg as they expand their burger restaurant business in the Boston area, it was announced today by David McKillop, General Manager and Executive Vice President of A&E. The Dark Knight Rises has its eye on the record books, with massive box office numbers pouring in. The latest estimate is that this Batman finale will take in between $80 million and $85 million today. A few weeks ago, I got an email from a co-worker who had set me up for a press screening of this film, The Human Centipede (The First Sequence), and I didn’t really think much about it one way or the other. Disney’s remake of The Little Mermaid has gotten its official rating. The film has been rated PG for “action/peril and some scary images,” per FilmRatings.com. Of course, it’s not exactly a surprise for the movie to be given this rating, as it’s a Disney movie that needs to be appropriate for young children. But the switch to live-action did result in the new Little Mermaid going up a step higher compared to the animated versions of Ariel’s adventures at Disney, as the previous movies were rated G....
