The Dark Knight Rises is currently shooting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, working towards a July 20, 2012 release date. The crew is getting ready for tomorrow’s shoot in the home of NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, Heinz Field, which will also feature members of the Steelers team including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. A new set of photos have been released which show how Heinz Field has been transformed into the home stadium of the Gotham Rogues....

Variety reports that USA Network will air the already completed fifth season of The Dead Zone this summer, and word in TV circles is that the batch likely will serve as the psychic thriller’s swan song. A USA spokesman insists the jury is still out on a renewal for “Dead Zone.” Execs from USA and Lionsgate, which produces the show, declined comment. “We have an option for a sixth season renewal,” the rep says....

Captain George Stacy is returning to the New York City Police Department. Per TVLine, The Amazing Spider-Man actor Denis Leary has signed on to play a recurring character in Law & Order: Organized Crime’s second season. Leary will play Frank Donnelly, a cop with the NYPD who will interact with Christopher Meloni’s Detective Elliot Stabler. Leary is no stranger to playing a first responder on television. In addition to his experience as Captain Stacy in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, he previously appeared as a New York cop in ABC’s single-camera sitcom The Job, which ran from 2001 to 2002....

Star Wars fans can finally schedule some time down for The Mandalorian as Disney has revealed the official release schedule and episode count for season 1 of the series. The first ever live-action series set within a galaxy far, far away is set to debut on the Disney+ streaming service, and it’s been known for some time that the show will be available at launch. What wasn’t clear is how the release would be handled thereafter....
Nicole Kidman has joined the cast of Lee Daniels’ new drama The Paperboy, although two other actors recently dropped out of the project. Back in May, we reported that Tobey Maguire, Sofía Vergara, Matthew McConaughey, and Zac Efron had joined the cast. Shooting was pushed back after Tobey Maguire stepped away from the project last week. The delay also cut into Sofía Vergara’s shooting schedule on the ABC sitcom Modern Family, which caused her to drop the movie as well....
With The Batman just a day away from release, director Matt Reeves has divulged some interesting information regarding the upcoming spinoff series centered on The Penguin. In an interview with Variety, Reeves revealed that the idea behind the HBO Max series began life as an idea for The Batman 2 before the studio decided instead to give the supervillain gangster his own show. According to the piece, Reeves “mentioned offhand to some studio executives that he thought a second “Batman” movie could focus on how Oz became a crime kingpin....
Joe Rogan’s name has been in the headlines a lot lately, and while he certainly has his critics, many of the podcast host’s famous friends are standing by him. As with many past book-to-film adaptations, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry is yet another case of the book being definitively better than the movie. This isn’t, of course, to say that the film by director Hans Canosa and writer Gabrielle Zevin is necessarily bad. In fact, Canosa delivers an adequate adaptation of the original novel, incidentally written by Zevin as well, effectively bottling the key sensibilities that made her book the New York Times Bestseller that it was when it was published in 2015 and turning it into a deeply emotional portrait of life and love....
