Murphy also discussed how Culkin landed the part in AMC’s long-running horror anthology series. The Home Alone actor hasn’t had a significant role in some time, as he picks and chooses whatever he wants to do, which doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of anything at the moment. According to Home Media Retailing, ThinkFilm is promoting it’s controversial comedy, The Aristocrats, via Apple’s immensely popular iTunes. The film which features comediennes like Jason Alexander, Robin Williams, Sarah Silverman and Chris Rock telling the same dirty joke, had portions of the supplemental material from the DVD available on iTunes (the day before it came out in stores) for free viewing. ThinkFilm’s utilization of iTunes marks the first time the portal has been used to promote a DVD release....

Warner Bros. has debuted the second full-length trailer for the highly-anticipated movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, which will arrive in theaters on November 19. The cast of Pixar’s upcoming film Turning Red has come out in defense of its themes after a review emerged that claimed the movie wasn’t relatable to American audiences. The review in question was featured on CinemaBlend and quickly courted controversy in the comments after publication. Turning Red is the feature directorial debut of one of Pixar’s senior animators and art directors, Domee Shi, and is heavily inspired by her experiences of growing up in a Chinese-Canadian household....

Warner Bros. has picked up the movie rights to The Lucky One, the latest bestseller by Nicholas Sparks. According to Variety, the film will be produced by Denise Di Novi, in what marks her fourth WB-based Sparks adaptation. She previously produced Nights in Rodanthe, A Walk to Remember and Message in a Bottle for WB. Sparks’ The Notebook was a sleeper hit in 2004 for New Line. Published last month by Grand Central Publishing, “The Lucky One” tells the story of Logan Thibault, a Marine who survives three tours in Iraq....

Werewolf by Night is fast becoming one of the most secretive Marvel Studios projects ever. After being rumored for over a year, there have been reports of actors being cast, filming beginning and ending, and even a planned premiere date on Disney+ this Halloween, but so far, none of this has been in any way confirmed by either Disney or Marvel Studios. One might think it a bit odd that writer-director Dave Boyle’s first two films have been primarily centered on Japanese culture… since he’s not Japanese, but there certainly is a reason for it. His debut film, Big Dreams in Little Tokyo, was loosely based off his experiences trying to learn the Japanese language while doing missionary work in a Japanese community. His follow-up film to that cult comedy hit, White on Rice, explores the Japanese culture in almost the reverse manner....
