Although the potential sale of The CW caused some unease recently, the network has been steaming ahead with green-lighting new programs, including the Supernatural and Walker prequels, and the list also features a pilot order for Gotham Knights, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series comes from the producers of Batwoman and sees The CW continuing its tradition of adding new DC shows to its line up every year. With many of their current Arrowverse based DC shows seeming to be heading towards an end, Gotham Knights will likely be one of the series that will once again bolster up their DC content....

The Good A great war movie. One of the best I have ever seen. The Bad It sometimes gets confusing keeping on top of all the action and characters. Having recently watched Tora! Tora! Tora! I didn’t know what to expect from The Longest Day. After all, how many faithful reconstructions can we see about the events related to World War II by the same producer? When one considers the scope of the war it begins to make sense why there are so many movies about it....

Production on Netflix’s The Punisher recently wrapped, which means the series is heading into the post-production phase. The series has just added a very important piece to that post-production puzzle by bringing in veteran composer Tyler Bates to do the soundtrack for the show. Marvel will be keeping it in the family, as Bates has composed the original music for both Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol....

You can bring a new brand of family drama to your home on DVD and Blu-ray this coming February. The Stepfather will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on February 9, 2010. The standard DVD will be priced at $28.96 SRP and the Blu-ray will be priced at $39.95 SRP. The Weinstein Co. has picked up the rights on the comedy dance spoof, Dirty Step Stomp written by Steve Basilone and Annie Mebane; BenderSpink will produce. The movie will take on recent dance films as Stomp the Yard, Step Up and Save the Last Dance, as well as the 1980s classics Footloose and Dirty Dancing. The Hollywood Reporter says the idea of the movie originated in one of Benderspink’s weekly idea meetings, where everyone from the company is encouraged to come forward with ideas and opinions pertaining to articles, books, specs, pitches and the like....

It was a Wild week for Disney and The Weinstein Co. as they split the top spots on the DVD and sales charts. In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, The Wild placed first on the “national DVD sales chart for the week ending Sept. 17.” On the rental side, Lucky Number Slevin took the top honors on Home Media Retailing’s rental chart, while The Wild opened in the tenth slot....

It’s Halloween season, which means it’s the perfect time for Tom Hanks to return to Saturday Night Live as David S. Pumpkins. Dark Corners is crossing the ocean for it’s release in the US! In a story from Fangoria, they report that Union Station Media will be bringing out “British writer/director Ray Gower’s” first film Dark Corners on May 22. The DVD is going to be released by Starz/Anchor Bay. Synopsis: Thora Birch plays a young woman with dual identities. She’s an expectant mother as well as a mortuary worker who is also stalked by ghoulish creatures....

Fast and Furious lead Vin Diesel has revealed our first look at the return of Dominic Toretto in the upcoming sequel, Fast X. Taking to social media to show off the image, which finds Dom giving one of his classic squinting stares of seriousness and wearing a shirt with his name on it (just in case you thought it was simply a snap of Diesel going about his day), the actor also confirmed that the first trailer for Fast X will “launch next month…” Check out this latest look at Fast X below....

While HBO debuted the first Westworld Season 2 trailer at San Diego Comic-Con last week, the network also revealed that the new season wouldn’t debut until 2018, although no specific time frame was given. During the TCA Summer Tour, HBO narrowed it down a bit more for fans, revealing that the new season will debut in Spring 2018. It’s possible that HBO may be using the same Sunday 10 PM spring slot it typically used for Game of Thrones, before that show was pushed into the summer months....
