Back in September, we reported Screen Gems may remake The Raid, after its explosive debut at the Toronto Film Festival. Today it has been confirmed that an English-language remake of The Raid is happening. Gareth Evans, who wrote and directed The Raid, is executive producing the remake, although he will not return to write or direct. Our report from September revealed Gareth Evans plans to shoot a sequel to The Raid in February....

Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk will play a lawyer once again in animated form, as the actor will soon guest star as an attorney on The Simpsons. Ahead of his appearance on the show, a first look photo of Odenkirk’s character has also been released, depicting him with no pants, a messy shirt, and a five o’clock shadow. Completing the look is an expensive ring which would make Saul Goodman proud....

HBO Max just dropped the full trailer for their U.S. exclusive premiere of the BBC miniseries The Tourist, starring Jamie Dornan (Belfast, A Private War) as ‘The Man’ who, in the opening scene, runs off the road by a massive truck in the Australian wilderness. Following the accident, he wakes up in a hospital bed with no recollection of what happened before or who he is. Throughout the series, he sets off on a journey to find out more about his identity and past and figure out why somebody wanted him dead and is still threatening his life....

Greek star Andrew J. West has signed on to recur in The Walking Dead, appearing in the second half of Season 4. The actor is portraying a man named Gareth, who is said to be a “remix” of an unidentified character from Robert Kirkman’s comic book. Gareth is said to have a big presence and will be a pivotal role in the last half of this current season. The actor will be credited as a guest star for his Season 4 run, with the potential to be promoted to series regular in Season 5....

Lionsgate’s has just released the red band trailer for the action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. We see Nicolas Cage taking a schvitz with his pal Neil Patrick Harris, as Harris tries to convince a cash-strapped Cage to take a gig paying $1 million to attend a powerful and rich superfan’s birthday party. Reluctantly, he accepts his predicament and off he goes! The setup for the film sees Nicolas Cage starring as… Nick Cage in the action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent....

A sequel to the 1996 disaster movie Twister is now in development, and the latest word on the project is that filming is intended to begin in early 2023. Recent reports suggest that the search for a director is currently underway for the film, simply dubbed Twisters. It seems DreamWorks search for a distribution home continues. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has suddenly pulled out of talks with DreamWorks to distribute their films. DreamWorks heads Steven Spielberg and Stacy Snider are now in discussions with Walt Disney Studios for a distribution deal. It was said that Fox was a potential studio for DreamWorks, but it appears that Disney is the only studio in talks with DreamWorks as of now....

USA Network announced today that its digital team will continue its aggressive push into the online gaming world with the launch of Covert Ops 2.0, an alternate reality game (BurnNoticeOps.com) themed to the #1 scripted series on cable, Burn Notice. Developed in conjunction with the show’s creator Matt Nix, USA Network is once again partnering with GM’s Saab USA around the second installment of the most successful online game in the channel’s history....
