The NFL announced over the weekend that Justin Timberlake will return to do the Super Bowl halftime show for the first time since 2004. Some may remember 2004 as the year that censorship became even more of a huge deal after Janet Jackson’s breast was exposed on live television due to a wardrobe malfunction while performing with Timberlake during the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show. The blame was placed mostly on Janet Jackson, who became vilified after the performance, but not much was said about the former NSYNC singer and now fans are fuming that he has been asked back....

TNT has acquired exclusive syndication rights to The Mentalist from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, commencing in 2012. Currently in its second season on CBS, The Mentalist has emerged as one of the hottest shows on broadcast television. The top-rated series was the #1 new program of the 2008-2009 television season among total viewers and households and won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New Drama. The Mentalist will join a TNT lineup that includes many hit acquired series, along with network originals such as The Closer, Saving Grace, Hawthorne, Leverage and the upcoming Men of a Certain Age....

The upcoming remake of celebrated South Korean zombie flick Train to Busan has now been confirmed to be titled The Last Train to New York. Along with the new title, Deadline have also revealed that the movie has also now been given a release date of April 21, 2023, meaning that there is still a little while to wait before seeing how Warner Bros. Pictures plans to transport the claustrophobic horror over to the western world....

Turbine, Inc., a developer, publisher and operator of online subscription entertainment, announced that the company will release The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, the world’s first and only massively multiplayer online (MMO) role-playing game based upon the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Additionally, the company will demonstrate new content in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, the hit game that has quickly become one of the fastest-growing MMOs in North America....

There are few people that don’t love Val Kilmer, and the actor’s recent appearance in Top Gun: Maverick proved that. Despite the actor having a limited role in the legacy sequel, fans found the emotional reunion between Iceman and Maverick one of the movie’s highlights and have been delighted to see Kilmer talking about other potential movie appearances. Warp Films’ Lucas Foster (Law Abiding Citizen) has picked up rights to Blood Oath, a vampire action novel written by Christopher Farnsworth, and plans to fast-track the feature franchise about a vampire secret agent, according to Heat Vision. Blood Oath centers on a vampire captured by the U.S. Army just after the Civil War who is forced to swear an oath to President Andrew Johnson and has protected the presidency in the Secret Service for nearly 150 years....

After Warner Bros. decision to go Blu-Ray exclusive, there have been stories aplently speculating why they did so, and here’s another story to add to the pile. According to a column from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, both Fox and Warner Bros. took substantial monetary funds to stick with the Blu-Ray format. Here’s the relative excerpt from the story. “Given their long partnership, Warner gave Toshiba an opportunity to lure a Blu-ray studio to HD DVD, in which case they would go HD DVD exclusive and give HD DVD a clear studio advantage....

Everyone can now step into the Cobra Kai dojo free of charge, as YouTube has made its flagship series Cobra Kai free to watch online. Previously, only the premieres of the show’s first two seasons were available to stream on YouTube, with the rest of the episodes only available to the company’s Premium subscribers. On Thursday, the video-sharing platform made some changes by making all of its original series available to watch for free on the ad-supported service....
